Imo State University was established in 1981 through law No. 4 passed by the Imo State House of Assembly. Job Title: Registrar

Location: Owerri, Imo

Responsibilities / Functions

  • The Registrar is a Principal Officer and the Chief Administrative Officer of the University.
  • He/She is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day to day administrative work of the University except for other matters for which the Bursar is responsible.
  • By virtue of this office, he/she is the Secretary to Council, Senate, Convocation, and Congregation of the University.

Qualifications and Experience

  • The candidate should hold at least a good Honours Degree with a minimum of fifteen (15) years post-qualification administrative and professional experience in a University or comparable institution.
  • In all possession of a Ph.D degree will be of added advantage.
  • He/she must in addition, possess adequate leadership qualities and managerial ability as well as a high degree of competence, integrity, transparency and of strong moral character.
  • The candidate must not be at a level less than the equivalent of a Deputy Registrar with a minimum three (3) years experience on the rank.
  • He/she should be ICT compliant.

Conditions of Service

  • Each appointment shall be for a non-renewable single term of five (5) years and on such other terms and conditions as currently applicable to similar positions in the Nigerian University System and as may be determined by the appropriate University Law and The Governing Council.
