The Nest Lounge, a business lounge located in Yaba, Lagos State, is recruiting qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: Sou Chef

Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks
  • Cooking and preparing high quality dishes
  • Assisting the Head Chef to create menu items, recipes and develop dishes
  • Being responsible for health and safety
  • Being responsible for food hygiene practices
  • Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created
  • Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
  • Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
  • Ensure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications
  • Monitor holding and storage operations, stocking and food rotation, and guarantee food service sanitation standards are met
  • Ensure kitchen personnel is trained in best cleanliness and sanitation practices

Requirements

  • SSCE or equivalent required, formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred
  • 2 – 5 years of cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and guests.
  • Food Handling Certification preferred
  • Ability to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time, and work long hours in hot conditions
