Duties
- Incumbent performs repairs of light, heavy, and armored gasoline and diesel powered motor vehicles and fork lifts.
- Examines vehicles to determine how to rehabilitate and rebuild damaged vehicular parts and carries out needed repairs. Responsible for knowing and adhering to shop safety procedures.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Education Requirements:
- Completion of Secondary School is required.
Experience:
- Two (2) years of welding/sheet metal related experience, which includes at least one year of automotive vehicle body work is required.
Job Knowledge:
- Excellent skills in diagnosing and repair of all aspects of body work and general welding work. Must be able to read, understand, and use auto technical manuals.
- Basic understanding of the organization, Procedures and guidance for repair and maintenance of the vehicles.
Evaluations:
- This may be tested. Please specify your level of proficiency in the language listed.
Language:
- Good working knowledge in speaking / reading / writing of English is required.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must possess a valid Nigeria’s drivers license to operate light vehicles and trucks. Must have the skills and ability to operate the wrecker and tow vehicles from one location to another.
- Must be able to use the techniques of welding (electric arc and gas), riveting, metal fabrication, and panel beating.
- Must have the ability to substitute materials needed to carry out repairs. Manual weights lifting between 1 – 30 pounds and use of machine for weights above 30 pounds as indicated by manufacturers of auto parts.
