Security Assistant at Secours Islamique France (SIF)

Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization that intends to help, to bring relief and to protect the lives of those threatened by natural disasters, armed conflicts or by economic collapse. SIF provides its help in respect of cultural diversity, without any distinction of origin, religion or gender.

We are recruiting to fill the position of:

Job Title: Security Assistant

Location: Borno

Job Description

  • Ensures the implementation of SIF protocols and security measures throughout the mission
  • Ensures the capitalization and archiving of security management documents and tools throughout the mission
  • Participates in drafting the documents of the SIF security pack under the coordination of the logistics coordinator or the head of mission.
  • Ensures a geopolitical and security watch based on a solid formal and informal network allowing him a continuous analysis of the situation which he shares with the HoM, the Desk and the Headquarters Security Referent.
  • Participates and represents, under the coordination of the HoM, the SIF at meetings dedicated to the security of humanitarian actors.
  • Ensures the writing and regular distribution of weekly and monthly security reports
  • Is responsible for the development of the geopolitical monitoring network (other NGOs, national authorities, associations, universities, research organisations, etc.).
  • Ensures the proper implementation of risk mitigation protocols and measures by all SIF staff and teams as well as on all SIF bases;
  • Conducts security assessments according to SIF protocols in all SIF bases and areas of action;
  • Monitors and collects security intelligence for validation by the log coordinator or the head of mission of the field missions of the SIF teams in all the bases and areas of activity of the SIF;
  • Ensures the capitalization and archiving of daily security management tools (ToR, movement tracking, validation, etc.)
  • Participates in the regular updating of security management plans and tools on all SIF bases;
  • Participates in the implementation of protocols and preventive measures for crisis management (Hibernation, communication tree, referral health centres, etc.);
  • Contributes to the development of the Mission’s security strategy: analysis of the context and its evolution, development of a risk analysis and the solutions envisaged. Proposes measures to mitigate the risks and vulnerabilities of the SIF in Nigeria;
  • Attends security management meetings with humanitarian actors (INSO, security referents of other NGOs, OCHA, etc.) and develops an information network with his deputies;
  • Proposes recommendations on security aspects, in particular acceptance and humanitarian access;
  • Participates in the identification of needs for the implementation of protocols and security measures;
  • Report to the HoM, to the Desk and to the head office security referent on security incidents affecting the SIF and participate proactively and constructively in crisis management in compliance with the SIF protocols;
  • Contributes to the development of the Mission’s security strategy: analysis of the context and its evolution, development of a risk analysis and the solutions envisaged. Proposes measures to mitigate the risks and vulnerabilities of the SIF in Mali;
  • Attends security management meetings with humanitarian actors (INSO, security referents of other NGOs, OCHA, etc.) and develops an information network with his deputies;
  • Proposes recommendations on security aspects, in particular acceptance and humanitarian access;
  • Participates in the identification of needs for the implementation of protocols and security measures;
  • Report to the CDM, to the Desk and to the head office security referent on security incidents affecting the SIF and participate proactively and constructively in crisis management in compliance with the SIF protocols.
