We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accounting Manager

Location: Lagos

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Compute tax owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and other tax requirements.
  • Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice.
  • Report to management regarding the finances of the establishment.
  • Develop, implement, modify and document record keeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
  • Develop, maintain and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  • Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop and maintain solutions to business and financial problems.
  • Perform such other accounting, financial or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time – quite often on short notice – by CFO/Accounts Manager as required.

Qualifications, Competency and Accounting Skill Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess relevant qualifications.
  • Must be a perfectionist by nature, with no tolerance for financial sloppiness.
  • Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data.
  • Must be highly skilled in the use of Excel Spreadsheets,
  • Must be skilled in the use of MS word and must be a very good writer in order to handle the occasional administrative needs of the department.
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
