Job Description
As the Deputy Country Manager & Strategic Account Leader:
- You will be based in Lagos, Nigeria, this is a career-making role with an exciting career path for a Nigerian citizen.
- You will have a complete Emerson Automation Solution global scope and responsibility to develop and implement a successful business strategy for our customers in Nigeria.
- You will work closely with the area director in leading the development and execution of strategies resulting in profitable growth through increased penetration of IOCs & other Oil companies. You will provide leadership in the diversification of our business other side oil & gas industry such as power & water, mining, food and beverages, etc.
- You will contribute to building and developing an organization that can provide sustainable growth across our business groups. You will also work intimately with the local business partner in Nigeria to develop specific sales and marketing plans.
- You will be the guardian of the customer relationship, developing resources to provide comprehensive product, service and solutions to customers and to optimize the opportunities to create mutually valued productivity, growth and profitability.
- You will ensure we maintain excellent daily sales outstanding with all customers at all times.
Primary Responsibilities
What will be my primary responsibilities in this role:
The main objective is to position Emerson Automation Solutions as “The Supplier of First Choice” for our customers. Your responsibilities will include:
- Establish and develop high level strong relationships with key leaders within IOCs & other Oil companies
- Leverage existing and develop new relationships with key executive decision-makers to position Emerson as a preferred supplier of Technology, Products, Services and Solutions
- Understand customer needs and trends within our industry group in order to enact change rapidly to address these needs
- Understand all aspects of Emerson customers business, market needs and competitive environment
- Support the area director in building and developing an organization that can provide sustainable growth across our business groups.
- Develop a company culture based upon teamwork, dedication, integrity and continuous improvement.
- Develop and manage the execution of a multi-faceted comprehensive account plan covering all major business units at both the corporate and site level
- Manage and direct the work and activities of the Critical Site Team, and organize & manage the Team as a single organization focused on the customer’s business
- Ensure Business Unit plans and key initiatives are consistent with account plans and are implemented in a timely professional manner; assimilate BU personnel & Site Team Leaders into the Strategic Account Core Team
- Create a strong awareness of Emerson Automation Solution capabilities throughout all customers organization.
- Develop a true business partnership with IOCs, NOC, independent oil companies, government regulatory bodies such as NUPRC, NMDPRA, NAPIMS, NCDMB, NIPEX, etc.
- Provide direction to Local Business Partners to maximize value out of the Account
- Any other strategic duties deem necessary by the leadership team.
What do I need to be considered for this role?
- Educated to Bachelor’s Degree level in an Engineering / Science discipline with 12 -15 years work experience in either oil & gas, power, chemical or adjacent areas in the process automation or associated areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Achievement of an MBA / M.Sc. qualification will be considered advantageous but not necessary.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure effective leadership in HSE, leading by example and setting the direction for a successful health and safety program and creating a foundation for a positive safety culture.
- Discuss Health and Safety first or at least early on the agenda of every meeting.
- Ensure effective management of HSSE risks and impacts. Report all hazards, incidents and Near Misses in line with the MEA Emerson HSE incident policy. Active involvement in the investigation of accidents, near misses, incidents and ill health where required.
- Conduct all HSE training assigned to you as an employee
