Job Title: Account Manager

Job Objectives
- To assist in the management of the finance and direct overall financial plans and accounting practices within the company.
- To administer and superintend all business and operational financial activities with good and effective management;
- To meet all the financial needs of the company and maintain the effectiveness of the financial systems
- To ensure that the financial policies/procedures of the company are implemented efficiently and in line with generally accepted accounting principles and practices, both nationally and globally; using the principles to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.
Responsibilities
- Oversee projects funding and receivables as well as regulatory compliance and project advisory; ensure project accounts are maintained on Tally
- Drive Revenue & Cost Efficiency; and ensure processes & procedures are followed in the day-to-day operations.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of the Company’s financial statements in line with relevant statutory requirements and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Ensure the company is in compliance with all statutory and reporting requirements (payment and filing of VAT returns, PAYE remittance and pension remittance)
- Manage the fund disbursement process, cash balances and cash flow position
- Prepare monthly cash budget/position to show bank balances, expected inflows, expected outflows and projected closing cash balance
- Manage finance processes, develops and implements a modern cost effective accounting system that will meet the challenges and objectives of the company while integrating the business value chain.
- Liaise effectively with the internal and external auditors to ensure that an efficient and effective audit process is carried out.
- Improve the systems surrounding all aspects of the company’s budgets, forecasts and business planning.
- Analyses budget variances and consolidate the financial statement for further analysis by executive management.
- Develops and manages long and short-term cash forecasts, utilizing historical trends, seasonal influences and future projections. Determines cash requirements and maintains appropriate cash flows with banking and investment institutions to ensure adequate liquidity to meet all obligations, covenant compliance and optimization of cash.
- Perform project cost forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring and controls.
- Responsible for timely monthly consolidated financial statements, payments, cash-flow management reporting for submission to management.
- Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies for the set up.
- Third party liaison (tax authorities, pension fund, external audit activities.
- Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights that will enable management to determine progress against budgets.
- Design and implement strategies and mechanisms to safeguard the company’s financial assets.
- Coordinate the identification of risks and medium to long term financial implications of intended.
- Manage expenditure/transactions in line with the Company’s approved financial authority limits.
Qualifications
- A University Degree in Accounting or related field.
- Possession of a second degree like MBA Finance or M.Sc. Finance will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of seven (7) years working experience within the finance/audit and control department of a corporate organization or professional services organization.
- Professional qualification such as: ACA, ACCA, CFA etc is mandatory.
- Project Execution/Management
- Ability to manage and organize resources in such a way that these resources deliver all the work required to complete a project within the defined scope, time and cost constraints.
