Job Title: Head of Commercial

Supervises: Commercial Team
Job Purpose
- Serves as a company leader, overseeing day-to-day operations and focusing on the long-term interests. of the business.
- Pursues new business opportunities and manages functions such as company associations, employee activities and evaluations, and other matters that relate to a company’s operations.
- Plays an important role in marketing or corporate management.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
- Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.)
- Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are being met
- Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
- Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (marketing, sales, customer service etc.)
- Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
- Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
- Assist in setting financial targets, budget development and monitoring
- Responsible for the supervision of Business Development initiatives for all clients, personnel, and resources for the department
- Provide effective leadership guidance in business development strategy
- Achieve profitability target of the unit responsible for asset and liability generation
- Manage all market facing staff in the department
- Implement and execute regular sales activities to generate business
- Lead generation through organized sales presentations to prospects
- Team leadership: manage and collaborate with staff to ensure successful execution strategies
- Supervise the team in accessing prospective client’s opportunities
- Monitor approved loans and advise clients on good management practices
- Consistently adhere to regulatory standards and requirements
- Any other duties that may be assigned for the advancement and achievement of the goals of EdFin bank.
Candidates Specifications
Qualifications / Experience:
- B.Sc / BA Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or relevant field from a foreign or Nigeria private or first tier federal university.
- A Master’s Degree / professional qualifications will be an added advantage.
- 10 – 12 years working experience in banking; MFB or Fintech
- Good IT skills e.g., Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Demonstrable track record and skills/experience gained within a similar position(s), at a similar level.
