We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Safety, Security, Health and Environmental (Tech) – Health and Safety Administrator II

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Main Functions

  • Responsible for identifying hazardous workplace conditions.
  • Takes samples and measurements of hazardous materials, and coordinates the removal of physical, biological and chemical hazards.
  • Trains employees on safety, company policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to employee safety.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to Project Team in developing and maintaining a Project Safety Roadmap.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and mentoring for employees exhibiting unsafe behaviors, and provide recognition for employees exhibiting safe behaviors.
  • Assist with delivery of jobsite specific safety orientations for new employees joining the project, as applicable.
  • Assist and co-facilitate safety training, testing for all employees (HazCom, Fall Protection, Lockout/Tag out, etc.)
  • Support Project Leadership in completion of incident investigations.
  • Facilitate all injury / illness cases.
  • Perform periodic evaluations of power tools and equipment (i.e. scissor lifts, forklifts, fall protection, laser levelers, etc.) to ensure equipment is being maintained in good working order, as applicable.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in area of specialty
  • Minimum of 8 years experience.
  • Previous experience in a closely related position
  • Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of complex tasks.
  • May lead and direct the work of others.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Typically reports to a manager.

Additional Comments for suppliers:

  • Knowledge of Industrial Hygiene operations is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Petro chemical operations is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of Oil Industry Safety and Health operations is an added advantage

  • Conduc tNoise Surveys and Develop Noise Maps
  • Conduct chemical evaluations by afety Data Sheet reviews
  • Conduct evaluation of engineering control systems e.g. ventilation systems.
  • Conduct Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) activities
