Unilag Microfinance Bank was duly registered in April 2020 with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and was licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria to operate as a microfinance bank in February 2021. The focus of the Bank is to provide microfinance banking services to individuals and businesses within the University of Lagos environment as well as small and medium scale enterprises beyond. Job Title: Head of Credit & Business Development

Job Description
- Mobilization of deposits from customers.
- Appraisal of customer’s credit request in the most professional manner and providing the necessary information and details to enable Credit committee members to take an informed decision.
- Ensure full documentation of all approved credits before disbursement.
- Supervision of Sales Officer to ensure maximum performance.
- Regular monitoring of all credit to ensure facility utilization is in line with an offer, condition, and approval.
- Recognition of all money, income, and fee due to the bank on all approved credits.
- Maintenance of PAR ratio within the regulatory band.
- Fully in charge of the Bank’s credit and marketing targets as approved by the Board of Directors.
- Not less than 100% achievement of the Bank’s loan target, account sign-on, deposit, and income targets in line with the approved budget.
- Suggest a review of credit policy, procedure, and guidelines to reflect the current market trends.
- Development of new products to meet customers’ needs, and management of existing banks’ products for maximum performance.
- Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly credit reports to show the true and accurate position of the bank’s credit portfolio.
- Prompt and accurate documentation of Board Credit Committee observations a week after the meeting was held.
- Preparation of credit reports to regulatory authorities in a satisfactory manner and within the stipulated deadline.
- Resolution of all credit-related exceptions as noted by the Risk unit, Control, and Compliance unit, and the Regulatory Authorities.
- Weekly review of Sales officer’s performance
- Submission of Credit and Marketing staff’s quarterly and annual appraisal within the stipulated deadline.
- Supply of departmental input into the master budget to facilitate the annual budget.
- Ensure Zero tolerance on any form of customer complaints arising from credit service failure.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree / HND qualification with at least 6 years work experience.
