Director, Business Development & Partnerships at the John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA) – Edo State Government

The John Odigie Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA) was set up by the Edo State Government as a Learning and Development Institution positioned to drive accelerated human capacity building for public servants in Edo State and beyond. In pursuit of this objective, the Government built a world-class Training Centre with modern training facilities (classrooms, amphitheater, library, laboratories etc.) designed to be equipped with the best-in-class technologies, training aids and equipment in support of trainees learning experience.

The Academy is positioned to bridge and rebuild the human capability gaps in the service and ensure that the Edo State Public Service continuously possess the required human and service delivery capabilities required to achieve the State Governor’s vision in upskilling and retooling the public servants of Edo State.

We are seeking dynamic, innovative, dedicated, and results- driven individuals to fill the position below:

Job Title: Director, Business Development & Partnerships

Location: Edo

Job Summary
The Director of Business Development & Partnership will oversee, develop, and implement strategic marketing and business development plans and partnership strategies to drive viable partnerships and generate revenue. In addition, s/he will;

  • Drive increasing revenue, identify and develop new opportunities
  • Build external partnerships to increase visibility and collaboration
  • Research emerging trends and recommend new offerings
  • Develop business and marketing strategy
  • Build solid relationships with vendors in other to bring new business opportunities
  • Set up strategic marketing plans for the Academy through comprehensive market research, competitive analysis, pricing, customer engagement, etc.
  • Think strategically-seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives to develop and improve the business
  • Oversee the customer reference database and associated companies to facilitate marketing activities
  • Provide strategic advice on branding JOOPSA’s brochures, flyers, and other marketing communication
  • Any other duties assigned by the MD

Specification / Qualifications

  • The job holder should possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 12 years of experience in Business Development, Client Relationship Management, Account Management, or a similar role.
  • Experience in leadership/management roles.
  • Membership of a recognized and relevant professional association.
