We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Contracts, Claims and Compliance Manager
Location: Lagos
Functional Role
- Adhering to mission statement (see PG1101), to code of conduct (PG1102), to IMS system and further company-specific documents
- Awareness of Company’s Quality Policy.
- Responsible for all project contracts and commercial-related matters: drafting, evaluation, negotiation, advice and supervision of compliance.
- Serve as the point of contact for the company on contractual matters;
- Serve as the point of contact for the company on all compliance and claims matters;
- Maintain contractual records and documentation for all contract correspondence, status report, changes, amendments and other documents for all projects.
- As needed, shall provide guidance on contractual and commercial matters to the management.
- Where involved in a project as a Contractor, shall monitor our compliance level and ensure customer satisfaction with our contracting practices.
- Where involved in a project shall monitor Owner’s Contractors’ compliance and adherence to contract terms and conditions and shall support Owner and ILF as required in all Contract Development and Administration activities.
- Shall guide the action of the Business Development team on all contractual aspects of the proposal phase. This includes drafting contract proposal as well as reviewing provided contract proposals.
- Develop and implement procedures for contract & claims management and administration in line with company policy.
- Managing claims and variations arising from or in connection with the project.
- Immediate notification of the project management concerning the contractual impact of any delays, and provides advice on the suitable next steps to be taken.
- Recognition, registration and notification to the project manager of non-contractual services (see PG2402).
- Set-up the team knowledgeable in contract management. This will include training of new project managers and other employees in contracting procedures.
- Participate in regular project management meetings.
- Attend relevant company-organized training courses
- To perform all tasks/activities relevant to the company, assigned by the Management as required.
Educational Qualification
- Academic Education to BS level minimum in relevant field. Master’s Degree and Advanced Certifications mandatory.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience.
Competency Requirements:
Deep understanding and practical experience with:
- End to end Contract management.
- Supply Chain Management.
- Procurement.
- Standard Construction Contract (ex. FIDIC).
- Risk Management.
- Claims and Variation Administration.
- Able to work efficiently under pressure and in high stress environments.
- High ability to prioritize and work independently with little supervision.
- Leadership.
- Teamwork.
- Problem-solving through quick thinking and negotiation.
- Extensive communication skills.
- Extensive vendor management experience.
Managerial Experience:
- Advantageous.
Linguistic Skills:
- Excellent written and spoken English is mandatory.
Additional Competency Requirement:
- Understanding of project management system especially for engineering set-up.
- Will be responsible for Compliance Management System of the entire company.
