Yaba College of Technology – Established in 1947, Yaba College of Technology is the oldest and leading institution of higher learning in Nigeria, with all its national and higher national diploma programmes duly accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).

Job Title: Director of Works & Services (CONTEDISS15)

Location: Yaba, Lagos

Duties

• Planning and controlling the technical activities of Works & Services Department.
• Formulating visional strategies to achieve the institutional goals.
• Exercising control in the Department.
• Advising the Rector on the acquisition, operation and maintenance of all polytechnic assets as the case may be.
• Preparing the budget and exercising budgetary control.
• Keeping an inventory of all vehicles; ensuring adequate maintenance and security
• Performing other duties as may be assigned to him by the Rector.

Qualifications

• Holder of a good honours Degree (minimum of second class lower division) in Engineering with at least 18 years post-qualification cognate experience, or Holder of a Master’s Degree in Engineering with at least 15 years post qualification cognate experience.
• A registered Engineer with Doctoral Degree in Engineering plus 14 years post qualification cognate experience.
• Membership of COREN is mandatory.
• Evidence of community service.
• Attainment of position of Chief Engineer may be an added advantage.

The conditions are as applicable to similar positions in the Federal Polytechnics.
