We are recruiting to fill the position below:

 

 

Job Title: Field Operator

Location: Nigeria

Roles and Responsibilities
A Field Supervisor is responsible for performing all tasks assigned in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with the established standard operating procedures, written and oral instructions. The Field Supervisor should be work under the supervision of the Operations supervisor to:

  • Manage day-to-day production operations field activities and manage safety and environmental issues.
  • Monitor, control and record production rates and performance.
  • Start-up wells and facilities (hot and cold start).
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on wells and facilities to ensure stability.
  • Prepare the wells and facilities/equipment for (re) commencement of production/processing.
  • Perform monthly well test and sampling of producing wells.
  • Periodic wellhead surveillance.
  • Carryout ad-hoc annulus pressure monitoring of all wells in the production unit.
  • Perform periodic well integrity assurance tasks and activities (both well’s flow-wetted and non-flow-wetted components)
  • Perform daily first-line monitoring of process parameters and variables.
  • Gather daily production data, determine the production performance.
  • Ensure optimized chemical injection rates are followed as advised.
  • Observe local instruments, gauges, and meters to verify conformance to standard operating practice.
  • Responsible for preparing equipment for maintenance including isolation, draining, steaming, and other procedures as required.
  • Responsible for preparation such as plant isolation etc., for day-to-day maintenance work.
  • Perform daily check and minor maintenance based on the check list etc.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team on assigned tasks and activities.

Job Requirements
Academics:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HNDor OND in a Science / Engineering related discipline.

Work Experience:

  • 5 – 10 years work experience in the operations of Gas Plant and DCS-controlled flow stations.
  • Experience in operating a shell field location will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in gas plant and flow station commissioning process will be an added advantage.
  • CWI experience will be an added advantage.
  • BOSIET/HUET/PTW certifications will be an added advantage.

Gender:

  • Male/Female

Skills (Added Advantage):

  • Experience in flow station DCS controlled panel operation.
  • Demonstration of a full knowledge of wellhead systems (installation, completion and testing of various components and seals).
  • A good understanding of the working principles of field instrumentation and process automation systems.
  • Field troubleshoot and analytical skills.
  • A good knowledge of the Microsoft desktop office suites (powerpoint, excel, word and outlook).
  • Basic typing and editing skills.
  • Perform basics operations with the computer.
  • Basic well integrity knowledge.
  • Experience in actuator valves and ESD systems operation.
  • A good knowledge of field Instrumented DCS systems.
  • Skill-level understanding of fluid dynamics and mechanics.
  • Experience in oil wellhead operations and troubleshooting skills.
  • Interpretation of process engineering flow schemes and process drawings.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to understand and perform basic production operations (volume, pressure) calculation.
  • Problem-solving and good analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of worksite hazard mgt and perimetry systems
  • Self-Motivated and performs under minimal supervision
  • Ability to understand unit of various variables i.e. pressure, volume, flowrate etc.
  • Communication & teamworking.
  • Onsite risk assessment capability.
  • Onsite Hazard and risk identification.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
