Position Summary
- The Front Office Supervisor at Huxton Hotel is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front desk and ensuring exceptional guest service.
- This role involves supervising the front office team, handling guest inquiries and concerns, and ensuring efficient check-in and check-out processes.
- The Front Office Supervisor reports to the Front Office Manager and works closely with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the front office team, including front desk agents, concierge, and bell staff.
- Train and mentor front office staff, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and skills to provide exceptional guest service.
- Monitor the front desk operations to ensure smooth check-in and check-out processes, including managing room assignments and resolving any issues or discrepancies.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, aiming to achieve guest satisfaction and resolution.
- Assist in managing room inventory, ensuring accurate room availability and optimal occupancy levels.
- Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure cleanliness and functionality of guest rooms and public areas.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel services, amenities, and local attractions to provide guests with accurate information and recommendations.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as reservations, sales, and food and beverage, to ensure effective communication and seamless guest experiences.
- Oversee the handling of guest requests, amenities, and special arrangements, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Monitor and respond to online reviews and feedback, taking necessary actions to address guest concerns and improve guest satisfaction.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, such as occupancy rates, revenue, and guest feedback, providing valuable insights to management.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and standards, including safety and security protocols.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to front office staff, recognizing and addressing areas for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the hospitality industry.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and a customer-centric mindset.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; a Degree in Hospitality Management or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in a front office or guest service role, with 2 – 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, colleagues, and management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities.
- Knowledge of hotel property management systems (PMS) and other relevant software applications.
- Proficient in English; additional language skills are a plus.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations and handle guest complaints with empathy and diplomacy.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of local attractions, restaurants, and services to assist guests with recommendations and arrangements.
- Most perfered: Candidate residing around Jakande and environ.
