1.) Media Officer (Nigeria)
Job Location: Lagos / Benin City – Edo
Employment Type: 12 month contract

Description
- We are a Media Officer based in Lagos or Benin City, Nigeria for a project that will deliver changes in knowledge, intentions and behaviours among people preparing to migrate irregularly or already in transit along the Central Mediterranean Route (CMR).
- As a Media Officer your main tasks will be to manage the project’s social media pages, as well as liaise with local media outlets to promote the projects’ messaging.
- You will provide support for the development of online engagement strategies, creative products, PR and media strategies, copywriting, and branding efforts. Your attention to detail, creative talent, and ability to deliver will be highly valued.
Job Responsibilities
The following are the primary responsibilities of the role:
Deliver: Project and Mission Implementation:
- Implementing online engagement strategies, PR, and media strategies;
- Developing creative communications content to be published;
- Liaising with local media outlets; speaking to the press and participating in radio and TV shows;
- Attending and documenting events (interviewing participants, photography, etc);
- Suggesting and trialling new ideas to catch the targeted audience’s attention;
- Providing media capacity-building support to project partners;
- Contributing to donor reporting;
- Overseeing and developing content for online platforms;
- Running campaigns on social media platforms using Ads Manager for META (like dynamic ads and carousel ads);
- Testing social media content for successful scale-up of most impactful adverts;
- Leading on digital analytics and adapting content based on digital insights;
- Coordinating with the HQ project management team throughout the implementation of the project;
- Regularly reporting on the process of your work to your supervisor;
- Other communications-related tasks as required.

Selection Criteria
We are looking for someone with:
- At least 3 years of experience working in communications;
- Based in Lagos or Benin City, Nigeria
- Digital campaign and marketing experience (creating, implementing, and extracting the campaign’s metrics in order to be able to optimise the results);
- Effective prioritisation and organisational skills, with an ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision;
- Experience working with vulnerable groups, and a thorough understanding of confidentiality;
- Strong experience working on developing media content, particularly social media content;
- Strong photography skills;
- Access to a stable Internet connection;
- To be successful in this role you must be empathetic and influential.
- You must also have strong written and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail;
- Interpersonal skills and an ability to coordinate with teams and local media outlets;
- Preferably thematic expertise in migration and trafficking issues;
- Fluency in English and one other local language (Yoruba or Edo) is compulsory.

Position Terms
- This is a full time, 12 month position. Although most of the work can be carried out remotely, you will need to participate in some in-person tasks (speaking to the press, participating in radio shows, attending and reporting on events organised by the project, etc). Additional ad hoc travel may also be required.
Salary
EUR 1,500 monthly.

2.) Counsellor (Nigeria)

- We are seeking three Counsellors in Nigeria for a project that will deliver changes in knowledge, intentions and behaviours among people preparing to migrate irregularly or already in transit along the Central Mediterranean Route (CMR).
- You will provide one-on-one consultations to potential irregular migrants, migrants in transit, and with community members of potential migrants.
- You will be responsible for providing guidance to individuals to increase awareness about migration issues, including the realities of life in destination countries, the status of migrants in destination countries, and the risks of the journey and alternatives.
- You will provide one-on-one consultations remotely and in-person.
- You will also participate in events aiming to increase awareness about migration issues.
Job Responsibilities
The following are the primary responsibilities of the role:
Deliver: Project and Mission Implementation:
- Conduct individual consultations, either face-to-face or over the phone, with the project’s target audience members to raise awareness about migration issues.
- Gather insights from the field and regularly share them with your supervisor.
- Research and update the project database with up to date information on local alternatives (job opportunities, training opportunities, etc.);
- Organise and lead events to raise awareness of migration issues within target communities.
- Deliver regular performance reports, and make yourself reachable during your working hours to your Supervisor and the Project Manager.
- Liaise and build relationships with local stakeholders and the broader community of interest when requested, and represent Seefar as required.
- Attend and participate in regular team meetings with other team members.

Selection Criteria
We are looking for someone with:
- At least four years of community-based work experience in Nigeria;
- Based in Lagos or Benin City;
- Strong ties with the local community and institutions;
- Excellent knowledge and use of social media and other communication channels such as WhatsApp;
- Experience working with monitoring & evaluation tools such as Appsheet or KOBO;
- Computer literacy and access to a stable Internet connection;
- An excellent reputation in the local community;
- Fluency in English and a local language (Yoruba or Edo)
- Excellent communication skills including being comfortable talking and delivering information face to face and over the phone;
- Experience working with vulnerable groups, and a thorough understanding of confidentiality.
- You must be empathetic, confident and influential.
- You must have at least 4 years of experience doing community-based work and have demonstrable interest in working with vulnerable communities.
- Strong knowledge of migration and trafficking issues;
- Experience in psychosocial counselling and/or youth mentoring is highly desirable;
- Interpersonal skills and an ability to coordinate with teams and local stakeholders;
- You must be intrinsically motivated, be well organised, and be effective communicators.
- Fluency in English and one other local language (Yoruba or Edo) is compulsory. You must be based in Lagos or Benin City.
Position Terms
- This is a full time, 12 month position. Although most of the job can be carried out remotely, Counsellors will need to attend all events in person. Additional ad hoc travel may also be required.
- You will be required to participate in a paid, remote training from 24 – 28 July. Project activities begin on 31 July.

3.) Project Coordinator (Nigeria)

- We are seeking a Project Coordinator in Nigeria for a project that will deliver changes in knowledge, intentions and behaviours among people preparing to migrate irregularly or already in transit along the Central Mediterranean Route.
- Social media campaign to promote campaign messages
- Facilitating teacher trainings on the risks of irregular migration and legal alternatives
- A Project Coordinator has the responsibility of leading a Nigeria-based team to deliver the project’s Nigerian activities in order to reach the wider project’s objectives. The main activities in Nigeria include:
- Face to face and remote counselling support to target beneficiaries
- Community events aimed at raising awareness about migration issues
- Creation and maintenance of a referral database and the facilitation of referrals to relevant services.
Job Responsibilities
The following are the primary responsibilities of the role:
Deliver: Project and Mission Implementation:
- Support the recruitment, training, supervising and developing of field teams in all project locations. This includes monitoring their performance and providing regular reports on their progress.
- Lead the field team to deliver on all project targets and objectives, meeting and exceeding expectations where possible.
- Liaise with local partners to deliver project activities. This will include:
- Organising and participating in community events
- Facilitating teacher trainings on the risks of irregular migration and legal alternatives
- Creation and maintenance of a referral database and the facilitation of referrals to relevant services
- Coordinate all field activities and events, ensuring that all logistical elements are in place.
- Responsible for all management and administration elements of field expenses for the project, in line with internal project systems, financial and budgeting tools and processes.
- Support Project Manager with project development and reporting.
- Provide thematic inputs to the project team relating to migration, modern slavery and livelihoods, as advised.
- Cooperate with other areas of Seefar, including to communicate substantive and administrative information that supports corporate management overall.
- Liaise with the SSRA to ensure that project security processes are fit for purpose and followed.

Selection Criteria
We are looking for someone with:
- At least five years experience coordinating teams in Nigeria;
- You must have at least 5 years of professional experience coordinating teams and implementing projects.
- Strong ties with the local community and institutions;
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to create partnerships with various stakeholders ranging from grassroots to government;
- Fluency in English and a local language (Edo or Yoruba);
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills;
- You will have demonstrable experience working with various stakeholders and will have an interest in working with vulnerable communities. You must be a strong leader who is intrinsically motivated, well organised, and an effective communicator.
- Computer literacy and access to a stable Internet connection;
- Strong knowledge of migration and trafficking issues;
- Experience working with vulnerable groups, and a thorough understanding of confidentiality.
- A Project Coordinator must be empathetic, confident and influential.
- Fluency in English and one other local language (Yoruba or Edo) is compulsory. You must be based in Lagos or Benin City.
Position Terms
- This is a full time, 12 month position. Although most of the job can be carried out remotely, certain elements of the job will be carried out in person. Ad hoc travel will be required.
- You will be required to participate in a paid, remote training from 17 – 21 July. Project activities will begin on 31 July.
Salary
EUR 2,000 monthly.
