Job Title: Senior Software Support Engineer / Developer
Location: Adamawa
Job Responsibilities
- The Senior Software Support Engineer/Developer reports to Manager Information System and shares the responsibility and accountability for the effective and efficient support service and development of all Enterprise Software/Applications deployed at AUN.
- The Software Support Engineer/Developer, under the leadership of the Manager ISS, monitors, analyses, develops and solves application service requests; installs, modifies, upgrades, and optimizes enterprise application for AUN information systems.
- The position is also charged with the responsibility of designing and maintaining programs and source code development and implementation in line with AUN Policies and Procedures as well as AUN IT Policy and shall also provide support for users regarding programming issues Database Management.
- Assist the IS Manager in providing end-user supports and Software Developer for all information systems at AUN such as but not limited to OpenERP, LMS (Canvas, Moodle, and Turnitin), CMMS, BIODUX, POS, VingCard, Koha, eWallet, Cafeteria POS, DSpace, CarePlus, Badge Manager, any other enterprise software that will be acquired for AUN operations. Supports the purchase and sale of e-books as required by faculty and students.
- Proactively supports day-to-day system operations and engineering including system files management, account maintenance, systems monitoring, and printing.
- Acts as a resource person to other Software Support Engineers & Unit Interns.
- Overseas software installations of operating systems, layered products, and third-party products for multi-user computer systems.
- Document and compile users’ requirements, processes, manuals, and guides. Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field as well as (3) years’ experience of information systems support (hardware, software, processes). A Master’s Degree will serve as an added advantage.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the issues relevant to OpenERP software modules including Finance, Admissions, Faculty, Academic registry SIS, HR, Library, and Facilities Management.
- Strong hands-on experience on Relational Database Management systems (Oracle, MS-Access, MS-SQL, MySQL, Postgres, Python etc.
- Strong knowledge of Structured Query and Language and ability to write and execute complex SQL commands and statements to process and manage complex dataset.
- Strong knowledge of Business Analytics systems and reporting
- Strong hands-on experience on Windows Server OS, LINUX (Ubuntu and other flavors of Linus), Solaris, and UNIX.
- Strong knowledge of Storage systems (NAS, SAN)
- Strong knowledge of Learning Management System (LMS)
- Knowledge of Web Application Security.
- Advanced knowledge of AUN supported applications
- Proven data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of data protection technics and methodology

Job Title: Network Engineer
Location: Adamawa
Job Responsibilities
- A Network Engineer reports to Network Manager and responsible for monitoring devices and cabling structure within the AUN network; ensuring proper functionality of entire system.
- The Network Engineer also plans and designs processes in which the network can be configured, implement, managed, troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain networks in line with stipulated policies and procedures.
- Carry out penetration testing, network sniffing and reconnaissance.
- Responsible for installing network hardware, cabling structure, and software for network.
- Tests, monitors, and maintain cabling structure environment.
- Tests, monitors, and maintain wireless controllers and access points.
- Install and maintain network services.
- Oversee network security and defend the security architecture of the Network and manages back-up of configurations of network devices and restoration.
- Perform troubleshooting, analysis of connectivity between servers, workstations and Internet cloud. Perform other duties assigned by his supervisors
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution with at least minimum of 1 (one) year post NYSC experience working in network.
- Certifications: CCNA etc.
- Advanced knowledge of cabling structured network.
- Operating Systems knowledge: Windows, Cisco IOS, Linux family
- Hands-on experience implementing and administrating Cisco network equipment: switches, routers, firewalls, network protocols, VoIP., Wireless Access Points and WLAN Controllers
- Demonstrable level of competence including:
- A thorough understanding of the network technology and protocols
- A practical level of experience implementing and administrating common
- TCP/IP-based and other services
- Working knowledge of common network monitoring and security utilities
- Troubleshooting focused on determining hardware vs. software, network vs. application/systems

Job Title: Human Resources Record Officer
Location: Adamawa
Job Description
- The HR Record Officer reports to the Human Resources Manager and the position is responsible for updating and maintaining the integrity of employee records in the Human Resources Database.
- The position shall ensure that accurate employee records which includes but not limited to detailing, notices of commendation, warning or discipline, performance evaluations and reviews, changes in employee qualifications and trends in employee trainings, changes in job title, job description, job classification or supervisor in as enshrined in the personnel manual and in accordance with the policies and procedures of the American University of Nigeria.
- Coordinates the processes that current staff members may review their personnel record by making an appointment with Human Resources Director.
- Maintains confidentiality of employment records and sorting outdated records.
- Updates employees’ records and keeping daily records of employees on the HR data base and opener.
- Records employee data and monitors departmental changes of staff for record updates.
- Plans record filing systems by creating hard-copy and electronic folders; files and retrieves information in accordance with departmental records management procedures.
- Manages the location and storage of records; conducts records audit; and organizes the disposal of records in accordance with their retention schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Title: Director, Student Judicial Affairs/Academic Integrity
Location: Adamawa
Job Description
- Under the supervision of the Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Student Affairs, this position is responsible for administering the student conduct and academic integrity system and adjudicating alleged violations of conduct policies by University students and student organizations in a fair and timely manner.
- The Director of Student Judicial Affairs/Academic Integrity is charged with providing comprehensive leadership, management and vision for the Office of Student Judicial Affairs.
- S/he will set the tone and direction for this position, developing and revising conduct codes, adjudication systems and related procedures.
- The Director is a participant in developing an educational climate supportive of the mission of the University.
- Responsibilities center on fostering an environment that encourages sensible conduct choices and personal and educational integrity as values of the institution. This is accomplished through positive educational programs that encourage appropriate behavior as well as through enforcement systems that respond to violations of behavioral standards for the University community.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive leadership, management and vision for the Office of Student Judicial Affairs. Develop and administer an effective program of student conduct and associated judicial affairs
- Assess effectiveness of current practice. Update, develop and implement comprehensive student conduct process that is aligned with national standards, best practices and current law. The director proactively creates positive learning outcomes as well as reinforces community standards through the adjudication process.
- Accept, evaluate, investigate, adjudicate and set appropriate sanctions (up to and including expulsion) for cases of student misconduct in strict accordance with appropriate University policies and processes.
- Serve as the Hearing Officer for possible referrals involving student organizations, coordinating investigations of alleged misconduct by students and student organizations; facilitate communication with student organization leadership, and the Vice President for Student Life and Dean Student Affairs regarding conduct issues.
- Refer and present cases to the Student Disciplinary Panel for adjudication.
- Refer and present cases to the Academic Integrity Council for Adjudication.
- As appropriate, collaborates with the Chief Security Officer, Director of Residence Life, Student Housing Coordinator, Student Counseling Center, Provost, Deans, faculty and others in addressing alleged student misconduct and academic infractions.
- Maintain records and files of disciplinary cases in keeping with applicable University Policies.
- Conduct regular follow-up with all student violators who have not completed assigned sanctions, and place further sanctions when appropriate.
- Input, maintain, and update information regarding cases and inquiries in respective databases.
- Meet with students upon completion of their assigned sanctions, to ensure that the judicial process was administered fairly, to gauge student satisfaction and to provide support for continued personal development.
- Provide support to residence life staff in managing the non-academic judicial process
- Provide outreach, training, and education to all campus constituencies regarding policies, ethics, and risk management.
- Represent the Office of Judicial Affairs at campus-wide forums, presentations, and training sessions.
- Promote, coordinate, and present programs that encourage community development and enhance appreciation for responsible behavior and good citizenship.
- Assist students, professional staff, faculty and parents/guardians by educating them on the student judicial process, Student Conduct Code, Student Integrity Code and the University’s philosophy of student success.
- Refer students to the appropriate resources to address concerns in all areas.
- Serve on University committees, task forces and work groups as assigned by the Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Student Affairs

- Student affairs professional with three-five years progressively responsible administrative experience, including significant leadership experience in student affairs

Job Brief
- The Office Assistant, HR is charged with the responsibility of providing assistance as needed within the Human Resources department.
- The position shall also have the responsibility of providing clerical support for the office.
- The Office Assistant contributes to the efficient day-to-day operations of the office, works closely with the Executive Assistant and other staff of the Office to ensure the effective and efficient administration of the policies and procedures of the department.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or the equivalent.
- Minimum of 3-year experience in post-secondary education administration preferable.
- Experience in a professional setting.
- Knowledge of the OpenERP system application a plus
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office, database management experience required.
