The Namibian Defence Force (NDF) to recruit between 1 400 and 1 600 new members through the NDF Recruitment Planning Committee for the 2023/24 financial year. The distribution of new members across the regions has been determined, with the Khomas region allocated 141 positions, the Ohangwena and Omusati regions 119 each, and the remaining 11 regions allocated 111 positions each.
Enlistment Requirements:
Other Ranks
a) Must be Namibian citizen only.
b) Age between 18-25 years on
c) He/she to have obtained at least Grade 12 or equivalent certificate with 25 points in five (5) subjects including E symbol in English, Grade 11 new curriculum with 25 points in five (5) subjects including a ‘D’ symbol in English or Grade 10 old curriculum with 25 points in seven (7) subjects and a ‘D’ symbel in English.
d) Candidates with technical qualifications at level 3 or diploma such as electrical, mechanical, electronic and boilermaker will be an added advantage.
e) He/she must meet the required standards as follows:
(1) Ready to undergo a comprehensive medical test including HIV/AIDS and Pregnancy tests. (2) Must Pass Basic General Knowledge Test.
(3) Pass English Language Test. (4) Pass Physical Fitness Test:
(1) Run 2.4km in 13 mins for males and 14 mins 30 secs for females. (ii) Sit-Ups. Male 43 ups or more and female 25 ups or more..
(iii) Push Ups. Male 30 ups or more and female 28 ups or more. (5) Should have no criminal record.
(6) Should meet the following Body Mass and Height Requirements: (10) Male 152 cm min to 200 cm max: 47 kg to 96 kg.
(ii) Female 152 cm min to 183 cm max: 55 kg to 81 k 1 kg.
f) Attach certified copies of Namibian Identity Card and Birth Certificate.
g) Attach two (02) recent colour passport photos.
h) Attach certified copies of all education qualifications.
i) Attach copies of both sides of Covid-19 Vaccination Card.
j) Indicate shoe size at the top right side on the First Page of the Public Service of Namibia Application for Employment Form No.156043.
k) Applicants should indicate their constituencies on the form, stamped by their respective Constituency Councillor and should submit their application forms at the same office.
Officers Cadets
a) Must be Namibian citizen only.
b) Age between 18-25 years
c) He/she to have obtained at least Grade 12 or equivalent certificate with a minimum of 27 points in five (5) subjects including a ‘C’ symbol in English. Tertiary qualification will serve as added advantage.
d) He/she must meet the required standards as follows:
(1) Ready to undergo a comprehensive medical test including HIV/AIDS and Pregnancy tests. (2) Must Pass Basic General Knowledge Test
(3) Pass English Language Test.
(4) Pass Physical Fitness Test:
(1) Run 2.4km in 13 mins for males and 14 mins 30 secs for females. (ii) Sit-Ups. Male 43 ups or more and female 25 ups or more.
Push Ups. Male 30 ups or more and female 28 ups or more. (5) Should have no criminal record.
(6) Should meet the following Body Mass and Height Requirements: (1) Male 152 cm min to 200 cm max: 47 kg to 96 kg.
Female 152 cm min to 183 cm max: 55 kg to 81 kg.
(7) Pass Psychometric Test.

1. Candidates should clearly indicate other ranks or officer cadets when applying.
2. Candidate cannot apply for both other ranks and officer cadets.
