Purpose

  • To oversee the daily back-end operations of a high-end lifestyle outfit, providing unwavering support to the Store Manager that must result in exceptional levels of customer experience that accurately reflects the ethos of the brand.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties of an Operations Manager will include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Maintain an excellent record of ALL stock, ensuring it is periodically reported to the Creative Director.Manage rotas ensuring adequate cover for the back office, this is to be senta month in advance to the retail team.
  • Partners with Creative Director to manage the assets of the store by monitoring inventory levels and initiating action to correct inventory discrepancies. Ensures appropriate merchandise flow-through and replenishment processes are in place. Is responsible for store’s inventory preparation and execution.
  • To reduce stock loss in store. Observes safety and security procedures. Reports on any misuse or theft of stock Store Manager and/or the Creative Director.
  • Train and develop the retail team to ensure they fully understand the role of an operations manager and can step in as required.
  • Provide immediate feedback to the retail team(both positive and development)to recognise and praise excellent performance and to develop areas of need.
  • To ensure all Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Support the Store Manager by ensuring a consistent and exceptional standard of stock operations and logistics on all store items.
  • Build a good supportive relationship with all the stakeholders of the business, for ease of operations.
  • In conjunction with the store manager, ensure the store is always presented and merchandised to the highest standards whilst maintaining focus on the most profitable items and ensuring delivery of the store objectives.
  • To understand daily,weekly,and monthly store targets, clearly identifying what this means in terms of stock and inventory, store operations and facility management.Articulate the reports effectively to other team members and the Creative Director.
  • Completing the morning briefs, a daily deployment planner which will enable you to focus the team to drive customer service and sales
  • To keep up with and comply with legislative requirements concerning the sale of the various merchandise of the store.
  • Ensuring the safety and security of the building and associates during the absence of other or in conjunction with other managers. Performing opening or closing responsibilities. This includes activation and deactivation of the store’s alarm system.
  • Deputise for the Store Manager in their absence.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Education:

  • A Higher National Diploma (HND) or First Degree in Administration, Public Administration, Mass Communication, Business Marketing or Retail Management or any similar academic qualification.
  • Additional certification in administration or customer service management is an added advantage.

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in a similar role.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of office Management.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to analyse problems and make sound operational decision.
  • A strong personal commitment to the values of the Organisation.
  • Skilled at prioritising and organising work of self and others.
  • Strong Emotional Intelligence awareness
  • Good standard of numerical skills.
  • The ability to plan and prioritise workloads and delegate accordingly.

Person Specification:

  • Operations Manager is to provide on the job training to junior employees, monitor inventory, and make performance assessments of employees and sales partner with the Creative Director to maintain loss prevention or stock and to have an interest in running business systems, have a clear understanding of the importance of time management, must be highly communicative and possess great organisational skills.
