Job Title: Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

Description

  • The Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist will oversee the day-to-day technical operations of all the laboratories within the Clinic in addition to the routine functions of a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
  • The incumbent would supervise and manage the laboratory staff.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enforce good laboratory practices to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Monitor and ensure the timely completion of tests to meet turnaround time targets
  • Uphold excellent quality standards for all laboratory-generated results
  • Review internal and external quality reports to identify areas for improvement and ensure optimal laboratory performance
  • Provide supervision and guidance to laboratory staff, fostering a productive and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the laboratory premises.
  • Perform routine medical tests accurately and efficiently.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Efficiently manage operational resources, including reagents, consumables, and kits.
  • Generate periodic reports on medical laboratory performance to inform decision-making and facilitate process improvements.
  • Ensure proper functioning of laboratory equipment and adherence to set timelines for equipment maintenance and servicing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) with a current practicing license issued by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
  • 3 – 5 years post-NYSC work experience (preferably in a hospital-based laboratory)
  • Certification in Quality Management System is desirable but work experience in an ISO Accredited facility (or other healthcare accreditation) could suffice.
  • Comfortable using basic technology including laptops and tablet devices.
  • Proven experience of success in a multidisciplinary team
  • Candidates must reside around Lekki axis.
