Purpose of the Position

  • The Quality Specialist is required to work within and support all areas of the Supply Chain & Markets Operations Quality Management System, to ensure that the key elements of the QMS are implemented, documented and maintained in line with Pfizer Corporate policies and procedures and are compliant with the relevant regulatory requirements governing the distribution of Pfizer products in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya & East Africa market.
  • You will support the investigation and resolution of product quality issues discovered or originating in the Nigeria and Kenya Pfizer Country Office, Ghana and East Africa markets through interacting with the relevant local stakeholders and Pfizer Global Supply.
  • Through collaboration with a team of colleagues, your work will elevate the importance of product quality as a fundamental principle across the business.
  • You will contribute to the operational activities that support the goals of the division.
  • The function will report directly into the SCQ Cluster Lead North East West Africa

What You Will Achieve

  • In this role, you will directly contribute to the maintenance of an appropriate and sustainable Product Quality Management System and Quality Culture at the Nigeria and Kenya Pfizer Country Office, Ghana and East Africa markets so that compliance with Pfizer and Regulatory authority expectations and protection of Pfizer patients/customers from any product quality risk is ensured.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Co-ordinate complaint handling activities, including liaison with healthcare professionals, intake and close-out of complaints in the Pfizer global complaints database (Trackwise), collaboration with the manufacturing sites, and maintenance of all related quality documentation.
  • Initiate and implement Change Controls and process Change Control requests required by functions within the Nigeria and Kenya Pfizer Country Office, Ghana and East Africa markets.
  • Co-ordinate and track deviations, investigations, and Corrective and Preventative actions (CAPAs) within the eQMS system (Vault).
  • Work cross-functionally with departments within the head office such as Regulatory, Medical, Drug Safety and Commercial, and support necessary quality activities.
  • Co-ordinate and manage local Quality Management System documents from drafting, through issuing, withdrawal and archiving.
  • Generate metrics on Change Control, Deviations, Commitments, Complaints, Training and other systems as required.
  • Identify innovative solutions to continuously improve and simplify processes and practices within the SCMOQ department.
  • Provide training for Pfizer staff on Quality GSOPs/WIs as required.
  • Participate in the self-inspection program as required.
  • Assist with additional duties as directed by the SCQ Cluster Lead North East West Africa.

Qualifications
Must-Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry, or any other related Technical subject.
  • +3 years working experience in a pharmaceutical environment; Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Technical Services.
  • High level of proficiency in English language (both spoken and written)
  • An ability to work independently, as well as a member of a team.
  • Attention to details is key.
  • Continuous Improvement Orientation identify/problem solve
  • Results driven and creative with a can-do attitude.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Knowledge of Good Distribution Practices (GDP) regulations.
  • Experience with electronic GxP systems such as Trackwise, eQMS (vault) and SAP.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders such as Healthcare Professionals
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical organizational structures, systems, and culture

Additional Information:

  • No relocation supports available for this position.
  • Candidate must be resident in Lagos, Nigeria.
