Finance Officer at Sexual Offences Awareness & Response (SOAR),

The Incorporated Trustees of Sexual Offences Awareness & Response Initiative [hereinafter referred to as “Sexual Offences Awareness and Response Initiative (SOAR)], a local non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) focused on addressing sexual violence against children, is seeking applications from qualified candidates to fill in the position of Finance Officer. The successful applicant will be responsible for the daily bookkeeping of accounts, financial transactions, financial reports.

Job Title:         Finance Officer

Experience:  Minimum of 3 years’ experience in finance roles in NGO donor funded projects

Location:        Abuja, FCT

Duration:        Full time 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

· Facilitate effective, efficient, and timely financial transaction recordings, review all postings from state offices and merge with HQ postings.

· Prepare monthly financial reports.

· Prepare monthly bank reconciliation reports.

· Maintain and reconcile financials in QuickBooks Accounting software.

· Prepare other periodic financial reports as may be requested.

· Support successful external audit of SOAR Initiative’s corporate finances yearly.

· Facilitate effective, efficient, and timely financial transaction recordings, review all postings from state offices and merge with HQ postings.

· Support proper budget tracking monitoring/management in a manner that will aid good management decisions on project expenditures.

· Ensure compliance with statutory deductions and remittances.

· Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
* Must show evidence of being able to work with limited supervision

* Degree or HND in Accounting with second class upper/ Upper credit
* Experience in developing financial budgets for institutional donors
* Proficient in the use of Quick book accounting software
* Work experience in an audit firm is an added advantage
* Strong computer skills
