St. Francis Catholic Secondary School (SFCSS), Idimu, is a Catholic school run by the North-West African Province of the Society of Jesus. It wasfounded in 1990 by a Jesuit priest, Fr.Francis Cusimano, S.J. the first set of students arrived in January 1991.St. Francis Catholic Secondary School runs the Junior Secondary School and Senior Secondary School Programmes as specified in the Nigerian National Policy on Education. It offers a wide variety of academic subjects taught by a dedicated and qualified staff.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Guidance Counselor

Location: Council Bus Stop, Idimu – Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Ability to help uncover and diagnose behavioural and mental health issues and trauma resulting from abuse, bullying, and domestic violence.
  • Ability to help evaluate students’ unique aptitude and offer advice to students, parents, and teachers.
  • Ability to coordinate with teachers and school authorities on student matters; effective documentation and analytic skills
  • Must possess the requisite communication, report-writing, and presentation skills with the ability to facilitate workshops that enable learners to acquire effective study habits and teachers to be effective educators.
  • Ability to help students through their personal, familiar, social, and academic challenges

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology; Guidance and Counselling with 1-2 years’ experience
  • Practice post-graduation.
  • Professionally certified as a counsellor or life coach will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
