Principal Accountabilities

- The individual is responsible for his/her own safety and the safety of others within the work environment.
- The individual must follow and adhere to all SCJ and Local Environmental, Health and Safety procedures and is duty bound to stop unsafe acts and report unsafe practices.
- To ensure the efficient operation of the Production, Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Purchasing departments,
- Optimise manufacturing processes, productivity and purchasing efficiencies to achieve company targets and key performance indicators (KPI’s) in the areas of production scheduling, product costs, quality, inventory levels, factory costs and efficiencies.
- To ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained in the plant and conform to SCJ SHE standards.
- Ensure plant and equipment are maintained as per the Global requirements.
- Control Supply Chain budget.
- Train and lead departments in continuous improvement efforts to reduce set up times, on time shipments and improved quality goals.
- To ensure and maintain a stable industrial relations climate within the Supply Chain.
- The job holder is a full and active member of the Management Committee. As such, from time to time, he/she may be required to undertake wide ranging tasks and duties that are not limited to the experience and exposure of Product Supply.
- All tasks and responsibilities are to be carried out with the objective of creating positive benefits for the organisation.
Context
Operating Environment:
- ‘Hands on’ where necessary (Production and Engineering).
- Monitor and measure outputs and feedback to factory floor, including the necessary corrective action required.

- QC levels (including Weights & Measures Act)
- Factory Act and OSHAct (including environmental)

Experience
- BE. Degree
- +8 years’ experience in FMCG environment. Preferably Aerosol manufacturing.
- High degree of IR skills
- Ability to motivate team members.
- MRP/Computer literacy.

Subordinates:
- Formal daily meeting with Production / Maintenance / Planning
- Ad hoc meeting with Safety Officer
- Interaction continuously throughout the day on day-to-day running /operation of factory.
Superior(s):
- Informal / ad hoc
- A ‘need to know’ relationship
- Preparation of short/medium-term strategic plan
- Monthly performance measurements.
