Job Title: Marketing and Business Development Strategy Manager

Location: Lekki / Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Contract (Fully Onsite)
Reports To: Chief Commercial Officer
Direct Report: Marketing and Business Development Unit
Works & Interacts With: All Commercial Business Units, Stakeholders (Investors, Partners, C-level Executives, Senior Management, and the entire TWN Team)

The Role

  • We are seeking a marketing and business development expert to join our growing company, to drive company revenue by identifying across the group, profitable business opportunities and developing long-term business growth strategies.
  • This is a senior management position and the holder will design and develop the group’s business development and marketing strategy, implement marketing and revenue expansion plans, recommend ways to improve operations planning, ensure the effective management of overall customer experience, satisfaction, and retention, ensuring revenue growth throughout the group.
  • The role holder will evaluate the market position, assess business risks by analyzing forecasts, industry insight, market trends, financial statistical and economic data, identify competitive advantage, drive cross-functional processes, and maintain business model innovation.
  • To succeed in this position, one must clearly understand the role, be focused on planning, growth, and business model innovation objectives, and display sound judgment on which business strategy to apply for success.
  • Furthermore, the Marketing and Business Development Strategy Manager, Guarantees the seamless business operations of the company, leading and driving growth initiatives within the Marketing and Business Development team across all business units; (Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda).

Work Location:

  • Corporate Office at Ikeja and Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, and any other project location, as may be required to complete work responsibilities.

Contract Type:

  • Fixed-term Contract Employment for 12 months, with an opportunity to be retained as a permanent employee, or contract renewed given satisfactory performance and completion of key milestones and KPI Deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Developing a marketing plan and business growth strategy by collaborating with marketing unit team, commercial business unit heads, the entire leadership team, and the board.
  • Build solid relationships with customers, vendors, distributors, and partners as well as sales and marketing team.
  • Analyzing market dynamics, market share changes, product line performance, and competitive intelligence.
  • Identifying key capital projects, joint ventures, potential M&A targets, and other strategic partnership opportunities.
  • Identifying strategic risks, and new business opportunities, and monitoring the execution of business initiatives.
  • Directing marketing efforts by presenting market research, and recommending strategies to grow market reach.
  • Assessing marketing operations and recommending improvement where needed.
  • Preparing all documentation required for requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Communicating strategy effectively throughout the company, ensuring that the most suitable metrics are in place to measure the performance and revenue growth of each business unit and the entire group’s business performance, brand awareness, market reach, and marketing initiatives.
  • Researching emerging trends and recommending new company offerings to secure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Developing and managing strategic partnerships to grow business and presenting marketing opportunities to key stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely recognition and reward of top-performing business units, and implement performance management for the entire division.
  • Build strong and collaborative relationships with other internal stakeholders.
  • Selecting automation software to optimize the processes for improved productivity, and oversee the development of Marketing and Business Development operational SOPs and process flow, and ensuring the division’s compliance with internal and external regulations.

About You

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from any accredited university.
  • A Master’s Degree in Business Management from any accredited university (preferably an MBA).
  • Advanced or professional course or degree in, marketing, business development, business management, etc.
  • Proven track record of excellence and 8+ years of experience in business management, with a minimum of 4+ years’ experience in a senior management position providing strategic leadership and direction for growing the business and revenue objectives.
  • Industry experience in media and entertainment is required.

Ability to Use, Understand or Apply:

  • Various software including calendar and schedule management, word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and presentation software.
  • Research, Data modeling, Business Performance Dashboards, and Business Analytics.
  • In-depth understanding of the entire Microsoft Office suite, and other Google systems.

Benefits

  • Salary: N450,000 – N600,000 Gross Monthly (The final offer to be decided by the level of expertise, qualification, and capacity).
