Job Title: Mechanical Superintendent

Hours / Rotation: Monday to Saturday; No Rotation

Job Summary / Role Description

  • The Construction Mechanical superintendent provides on-site administrative oversight & technical management of field related construction activities (scheduling, engineering, material control , etc…) for high voltage, electric substation construction EPC projects.
  • He reports to the Construction Manager and will take responsibility for the coordination of Mechanical Construction activities through the Construction Mechanical Supervisor (MES), the Construction Machinery Supervisor (MCS), the Construction Equipment Supervisor (EQS) and Construction Piping Supervisor (PIS).

Duties and Responsibilities
His main responsibilities are:

  • He has direct responsibility on management of Mechanical Subcontractor(s).
  • He will ensure that their performances are carefully monitored in terms of schedule, quality and cost, and he will coordinate all necessary recovery actions whenever detect deviation from schedule or specifications under the guidance of Construction manager.
  • He ensures the implementation of all the HSE procedures and standards for the areas or activities (subcontractors) of responsibilities.
  • He directly participates to the HSE activities at site as defined for his position in the Site HSE plan and related procedures.
  • Responsible for the understanding, execution, and enforcement of corporate quality standards within his / her assigned area of authority by identifying potential problems early and ensuring the project and company’s quality commitments are met.

Person Specification
Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • University Degree or equivalent Study background.

Experience:

  • Management experience for an EPC company in for, at least, two plants as  Utilies Engineer
  • Plants for the gas treatment.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail, management skills
  • Team-oriented skills, self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
