Africa Youth Growth Foundation is a regional Non-Governmental Organization in Abuja for youth growth, development and empowerment, with a mission of building an African society through constructive engagement with stakeholders expand opportunities for self-development and realization among the youth.
AYGF has an operational base in British Columbia Canada, and Nigeria (Kogi state, Niger State, Ogun State, Katsina state and the FCT- Abuja). Over the years the Organisation has implemented several projects that addressed issues around migration, Public Health, Education, Democratic Governance, livelihood, Climate Change and Environment.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Position Overview
- The National Project Coordinator at Africa Youth Growth Foundation will play a pivotal role in coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating all projects undertaken by the organization both the national and state offices.
- This individual will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of projects, meeting project goals and objectives, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements, Organization operations and standards.
- The National Project Coordinator will also serve as a technical advisor, providing expertise and guidance to project teams and other stakeholders to enhance project effectiveness and impact.
Responsibilities
Project Planning and Implementation:
- Lead the development of project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with project teams and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure the timely and efficient implementation of projects, adhering to project milestones and deliverables in both the nationals and state offices.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Establish robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track project progress and outcomes effectively.
- Conduct regular project monitoring visits, collect data, and analyze results to identify areas for improvement and impact assessment.
Technical Guidance and Support:
- Serve as a technical expert and advisor to project teams, providing guidance on best practices, methodologies, and innovative approaches.
- Support project teams in overcoming challenges and ensuring the quality and relevance of project interventions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain effective relationships with project partners, donors, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate and facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and discuss collaboration opportunities.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit comprehensive and timely project reports to donors, management, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project files, databases, and records.
Capacity Building:
- Identify capacity-building needs of project staff and partners and design training initiatives to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Budget Management:
- Monitor project budgets, review financial reports, and ensure financial resources are utilized efficiently and transparently.
Risk Management:
- Identify project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential negative impacts on project outcomes.
Resource Management:
- Optimize the allocation and utilization of resources (financial, human, and material) across projects. Identify resource gaps and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address them effectively.
Reporting line:
- The incumbent will report directly to the Executive Director and will supervise the project delivery team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Development Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences).
- Proven experience (at least 10 years) in Project Coordination and Management, preferably within the non-profit sector or development organizations.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Proposal/grant writing and resource mobilization, he/she must have knowledge of donors and partners in the development sector
- Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation, including data collection and analysis.
- Technical expertise in one or more areas related to AYGF’s project focus (Education, Migration, Public Health, Livelihood and Climate Change and Environment)
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and support project teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of issues related to youth development, education, and sustainable development in Africa is desirable.
