About the Role

  • The role is responsible for managing the day to day interaction with the distribution partner and would help build and implement strategic plans for Nigeria which will enable the growth and development of our brand portfolio in the market.
  • The individual will be responsible for building solid relationships with key decision makers and key customers, based on a brand driven long term mind-set, while securing operational excellence and the highest level of in-store/outlet execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide insights to the Senior Area Manager to help in developing a sales and marketing strategy to reach objectives in terms of turnover growth and profitability, on a short, middle and long-term perspective in Nigeria (Lagos).
  • Work with wider Edrington teams and help the Distributor to develop key city strategies, turnover and profitability for the overall Nigerian business.
  • Build solid relationship with our Distributor Principal, Managers, Key Account Managers and Sales Reps at Distributor (On/Off Trade).
  • Understand the price ladders in conjunction with the distributor to support the Senior Area Manager’s decision making.
  • Ensure brand development in country and drive market share and brand equity whilst ensuring accurate and timely execution of agreed Plans.
  • Establish a training program for those working with the distributor on the Edrington Portfolio to ensure best-in-class execution.
  • Monitor, collect and analyse all industry information and become an expert on the market and its key features to help grow the Edrington business in Nigeria (Lagos focus).
  • Monitor and report timely Sales/Depletions against annual budget and update with Quarterly revisions (QBRs).
  • Support the Distributor to execute plans agreed with the Senior Area Manager and Brand Manager.
  • Manage payments & credit requirements, through the Distributor.
  • Monthly reporting on performance, competitor intelligence and business environment.
  • Proactively seek and recommend to Senior Area Manger any new profitable business opportunities.
  • For the avoidance of doubt the Lagos Insights Manager does not have responsibility for concluding or signing distribution agreements or price lists.

Educational Qualification and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years customer engagement experience in the Premium Spirits Industry.
  • Luxury/premium product knowledge an advantage.
  • Brand/Commercial marketing experience.
