Hope and Rural Aid Foundation (HARAF) is a National Non-Profit organization functioning since 2011 but was officially registered under the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) of the Federal Government of Nigeria in the year 2016 with registration number RN: CAC/IT/:85536.
Hope and Rural Aid Foundation currently has three field and operational offices in Adamawa, Maiduguri and Yobe states of Nigeria. The organisation works in the Food Security and Livelihood, Protection (Child Protection/Gender based violence), Education and Shelter/ (Camp Coordination and Camp Management) thematic areas.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Sexual Reproductive Health Right Officer (SRHR)
Locations: Adamawa and Borno

Job Summary
- An SRHR Officer plays a vital role in promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights, contributing to improved health outcomes, gender equality, and the well-being of individuals and communities.
- The officer requires a deep understanding of SRHR issues, strong communication and advocacy skills, and a commitment to human rights and social justice.
Job Description / Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement SRHR programs and initiatives in alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
- Create strategies for promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights in the target population.
- Advocate for policies and laws that support SRHR and gender equality.
- Provide input and recommendations for the development and implementation of SRHR-related policies and programs.
- Conduct educational workshops, training sessions, and awareness campaigns to promote SRHR among individuals and communities.
- Engage with communities to understand their SRHR needs and priorities.
- Foster partnerships with local organizations and community leaders to promote SRHR.
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the impact and effectiveness of SRHR programs.
- Collect and analyze data to measure progress toward SRHR goals.
- Provide support and counseling to individuals facing SRHR-related crises or challenges.
- Ensure that survivors of sexual violence have access to appropriate care and support services.
- Promote gender equality and inclusivity in all SRHR programs and initiatives.
- Address issues related to gender-based discrimination and violence.
- Prepare reports on program outcomes, progress, and challenges for donors and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of SRHR activities.
- Ensure that all SRHR activities adhere to ethical and legal standards, including informed consent and confidentiality.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree related field (or associate degree and equivalent experience).
- A Minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience in a similar environment/humanitarian context.
- Leadership, people management, and development, teamwork, and cooperation.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Essential computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail, internet, etc.…).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to work extra hours and available at the weekend for emergency cases.
- Proven experience in humanitarian environments with successful examples of livelihood project implementation.
- A good written and verbal communication in English language.
- Good in local languages (Hausa and/Fulani), will be an advantage.
