MAVENTEQ SYSTEMS LIMITED* – Our client, a multinational Oil and Gas company in Nigeria is currently recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:
JOB TITLE: GOVERNMENT RELATIONS ADVISOR (NATIONAL ASSEMBLY)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Propose and implement approved strategy for engagement with National Assembly members and officials.
- Report intelligence regarding developments in Government circles and the polity in general.
- Develop and maintain cordial and professional working relationships with Chairmen and members of relevant House of Representatives and Clerks of committees, to ensure ease of access.
- Develop and manage a Database of all Key Government Officials to ensure prompt access when required.
- Provide regular weekly reporting of all relevant Government activities to Government Relations Management.
- Initiate preliminary lobby process under the supervision of management, on bills, motions and petitions that impact company activities directly or indirectly or the Oil & Gas industry in general.
- Manage relationships with other relevant Ministries for other Entities – (A cross-functional support function).
- Alternate with other Government relations officers to obtain and manage official meeting appointments for the Management at NNPC, Federal Ministry of Petroleum
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 10 years of post-graduate relevant experience in the role and with good working knowledge of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry and Government.
- Experienced Relationship Management and Lobbying skills required to relate with Government officials in all arms of government.
- Professional Communication skills in managing senior executives
- Excellent team player with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to operate efficiently and effectively under pressure.
