We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Site Lead

Location: Nasarawa
Employment type: Full time
Division / Function: Projects & Installation
Reports to: Project Manager

Key Responsibilities
General:

  • Play a key part as a member of the Installation Team in driving site installation targets.
  • Work closely with the Installation Manager and other members of the Nigerian Team to deliver on business objectives.
  • Support the optimization of various Husk NG activities to ensure best practices are entrenched towards more efficient processes.
  • Support in driving “Best Practices” across the business. Once a “Best Practice” has been identified, ensure that the practice is visible nationally and to another subsidiary.
  • Support in negotiating solutions, resolving conflicts and providing solutions in the best interest of HUSK Power Systems, and our clients and employees across the potential mini-grid (and other) locations.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new employees where necessary.
  • Understand the priorities of the country operations and support the Country Team when necessary.
  • Provide requisite support and inputs on building and aligning various company processes and policies according to global best practices.
  • Other duties as maybe assigned from time to time.

Site Installation Management:

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Actively resolve any ROW or stakeholder issues at the Site including alignment with T & D Network.
  • Ensure that the Sites are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress.
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
  • Report and escalate issues to the Installation Manager as needed.

Risk Management and Team Support:

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Support the Installation Manager in coordinating the HOTO process with the Operations Team.
  • Work with Procurement, Finance, and HR to ensure project delivery and resource optimization.
  • Collaborate with the C&I Team to deliver on project installations as required.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Coordinate and maintain regular communication, as well as develop positive and productive relationships with various community focus groups/stakeholders, Village Power Committee (VPC), customer groups, vendors/suppliers/sub-contractors, etc.

Organizational Strategy:

  • Contribute towards long-term organizational strategic goals, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, and introduce business leads.

Required Skills & Attributes

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Electrical / Electronic / Mechanical or other Engineering / Science Degrees. Vocational or technical school training is an advantage.
  • Proven (2 – 3 years) working experience as a project engineer.
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in site/project development activities.
  • Proven proactive approach to process integration and management.
  • Quickly and successfully implements changes and improvements in operational activities and services. Effectively carries out tasks that are required by the Nigeria Team in addition to carrying out own role.
  • Adapts to changes in company strategy whilst developing own strategy to achieve personal goals of competently owning and managing processes.
  • Assesses own development needs and develops self to improve job performance and fulfill future potential. Contributes to the team ethos of the Company.
  • The ability to evaluate and convey complex information to others in an effective manner through concise communication skills and clear presentation skills in both verbal and written contexts.
  • Should possess requisite skill sets- active listening, speaking, reading, comprehension, critical thinking, performance monitoring, time management, people management, material resource management, judgment and decision making, teaching, coaching, and social awareness.
  • Should possess knowledge of applicable regulations and standards, customer and personal service, administration, and management, material handling tools, and technology.
  • Excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and project management tools (MS Project, Asana, Slack, etc.)
  • Good knowledge/experience in the electrical installation industry is preferred.
