Medecins du Monde (MdM) is an international humanitarian organization whose mission is to provide medical care for the most vulnerable populations, the world over, including France. We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Storekeeper
Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Full-time
Main Mission
- To physically manage stock in accordance with established protocols and standards
- Given the nature of our activities, this stock management particularly involves consumables, medical equipment, food, equipment, WASH Items, and hygiene kits but does not exclude other types of items that may be stored.
Main Activities:
- Receiving goods and checking they are in good condition and suitable for the order.
- Organising storage according to the procedure in force and according to the type of stock (pharmaceutical products, Nutrition, WASH, equipment, kits, logistics…)
- Labelling and recording information relating to each product (batch number, expiry date, etc.)
- Monitoring storage conditions (temperature, humidity level…) according to the specific recommendations for each type of item stored.
- Preparing outward stock movements (dispatch according to activities, donations, destruction): organising and preparing packages, administrative documentation (transport note, certificates, etc.)
- Monitoring consumption and expiry dates, updating stock cards.
- Conducting regular inventories in line with the established schedule
- Organising the quarantine or destruction of expired, falsified or damaged items according to established procedure
- Reporting on items nearing the end of stock
- Cleaning and maintaining premises and equipment.
- Reporting malfunctions in the management of the stock, the building, and related materials and equipment
- Participating in the development of activity reports and analysis of stock data
- Archiving documentation relating to the management of stocks.
- Keep the logistic team and supervisor informed on any logistical issues.
- Report any security-related issues to the supervisor.
- Follow up on the repairs and maintenance (Guest house; Office) and advise the logistician. If needed, he/she can be asked to make maintenance by himself/herself.
- Realize local purchasing of goods regarding facilities, maintenance, and store management, upon instruction of the Logistician and according to the Purchasing procedures.
Main Skills
- Previous experience in stock management and inventory management
- Be familiar with stock management protocols and procedures appropriate for different types of stocks (pharmaceutical products, Nutrition, WASH, equipment, kits, logistics)
- Be able to handle equipment.
- Draft documentation related to inventory management.
- Organize a warehouse and streamline storage.
- Understand the management cycle of pharmaceutical products.
- Use the Office pack and stock management tools.
- Discretion, rigor, responsible.
- Technical skills in the electricity sector, maintenance, construction sector, and mechanics are an asset.
