Job Title: Managed Care Medical Officer (HMO)

Position Overview
- As a Managed Care Medical Officer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing healthcare delivery within the managed care unit.
- You will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the effective utilization of resources while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
- This position requires a combination of clinical expertise, strategic planning, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordination of Care: Collaborate with specialists, hospitals, and other healthcare providers within the HMO network to ensure coordinated and seamless delivery of care for patients, including sharing medical information, coordinating referrals, and following up on treatment plans.
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records for patients, documenting medical histories, diagnostic tests, treatments, medications, and other relevant clinical information in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Patient Counseling and Support: Provide patient counseling and support, including addressing concerns, answering questions, discussing treatment options, and offering guidance on self-care management, medication adherence, and coping strategies.
- Quality Improvement Initiatives: Participate in quality improvement activities and initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes, clinical effectiveness, patient satisfaction, and healthcare delivery processes within the HMO network.
- Continuing Medical Education: Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing medical education to stay current with advances in medical knowledge, technology, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices relevant to primary care and specialty areas.
- Compliance with Regulatory Standards: Adhere to legal and regulatory standards, ethical principles, professional guidelines, and organizational policies governing medical practice, patient confidentiality, informed consent, and standards of care.
- Patient Advocacy: Serve as advocates for patients’ rights, preferences, and needs, advocating for equitable access to healthcare services, culturally competent care, and patient-centered care delivery models within the HMO framework.
Educational Qualifications
- MBBS Degree
- Registration with relevant bodies.
- 1+ years relevant work experience.
