Child Protection and Women Empowerment Initiative – CPWEI is a Women-Led organization registered as an incorporated trustee with the Corporate Affairs Commissions and currently operates in Northeast Nigeria, with its Head office in Damaturu – Yobe State. We work with a wide range of stakeholders to mobilize resources and proffer practicable and realistic solutions to the barriers to access and participation of women and youth in political, social and economic opportunities and decisions affecting their well-being. We also work to ensure a safer and protective environment in volatile and resettled communities affected by insurgencies in North-eastern Nigeria, by increasing communities’ access to resources and skills through Human Rights Based Approaches.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Manager
Location: Yobe

Job Description
- In close collaboration with the Program Manager, design and establish MEAL framework for the project
- Design a tool for baseline and endline assessment and analyze the data collected
- Develop the overall framework for current project MEAL systems in collaboration with consortium partner and senior project staff, including requirements, reporting, baseline, and evaluation surveys; develop and monitor project management plan to systematically document performance
- Ensure adherence to specific monitoring and reporting requirements
- Analyze data for accuracy, flag validation or quality issues, and contribute to system fixes
- Edit content and presentation of all reporting and deliverables before submitting to ensure superior quality and professionalism.
- Ensure the alignment of MEAL activities with project goals
- Ensure timely execution of project work plan and inclusion of MEAL activities.
- Maintain existing indicator tracking tools; develop additional databases and tracking tools as needed to demonstrate the effectiveness of project interventions
Key Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant field (Development or Social Studies).
- At least 7 years (at least 5 years for Master’s Degree Holders) field experience in a relief or development environment.
- Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies (qualitative, quantitative, mixed method, and impact) and data collection and analysis methodologies
- Willingness and ability to travel
- Experience in planning and managing surveys, developing and refining data collection tools, and with data quality assessments and oversight
- Capacity building experience in project monitoring, reporting, and evaluation.
- Experience in implementing Information and Communication Technology for Development and Emergency (ICT4D/E) activities.
- Demonstrated experience in program design monitoring and evaluation or management, having served at such a position before for at least one year.
- Proficiency in the use of Kobo toolbox and research.
- Previous experience using analysis tool (Excel, SPSS or Power BI)
- Proven success in designing, implementing, and operating M&E systems from project initiation to close out
- Computer knowledge including Word, Excel, and Power Point (additional experience with Access or SPSS is preferred).
- Strong skills in written and spoken English; Knowledge of the local language is preferred.
- Proven success in designing, implementing, and operating M&E systems from project initiation to close out
- Local language communication skills (English, Hausa and Kanuri is added advantage)
- Previous experience with major donor proposal M&E requirements (USAID, OFDA, EC, UN agencies preferred).
