Job Title: Partnerships and Fundraising Specialist

Job Overview
- We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Partnership and Fundraising Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships, securing funding, and driving revenue growth to support our mission and initiatives. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong communication skills, a passion for relationship building, and a proven track record in fundraising and partnership development.
Key Accountabilities
- Strategic relationship building: Maintaining internal and external relationships critical to fundraising activities to achieve objectives. Converting identified organizations and high value individuals to supporters/donors. Networking across our thematic areas to further build relations with key stakeholders.
- Individual Giving: Identifying, developing and managing a portfolio of new and existing donors. Taking responsibility for delivery of agreed targets.
- Strategy and Planning: Growing the portfolio to engage new prospects through development and implementation of operational plans that support our fundraising strategies.
- Market understanding: Develop and maintain a broad knowledge and understanding of the corporate social responsibility agenda of corporate organizations/partners in Nigeria towards advising the management on potential areas of collaboration and fundraising.
Key Responsibilities
Resource Mobilization:
- Design and implement 3-year resource mobilization plan in line with the Foundation’s targets and conduct periodic progress reviews and updates with the Foundation’s management.
- Manage the Foundation’s engagement with other Parkinson’s Initiatives
- Support the Foundation’s advocacy efforts across government, private sector, and civil society platforms.
- Strategically showcase the Foundation to potential donors, partners and networks; to secure future engagement opportunities for financial/technical support.
- Identify new partnership opportunities in support of the Foundation’s strategy and develop proposals/concept notes for identified funding opportunities.
- Develop and maintain an updated stakeholder database. Manage partnership inquiries directed to the Foundation and other activities to expand corporate and individual donor base.
- Develop and maintain relationships with funders (including grant-making bodies, high net worth individuals, companies and community groups).
- Coordinate high level meetings involving diverse stakeholders/partners, build and maintain key relationships that are priority to the Foundation.
- Lead targeted research efforts in line with the Foundation’s resource mobilization/partnership priorities.
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to generate revenue through individual donations, events, and corporate sponsorships.
- Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities, including grant applications, online campaigns, and targeted appeals, to diversify revenue streams and maximize donor engagement.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to analyze fundraising performance, identify trends, and optimize strategies for maximum impact and sustainability.
- Research, test and where appropriate, develop new fundraising ideas and opportunities for income generation.
- Support the Communications team to maintain the Foundation’s media channels as a useful fundraising tool.
- Stay abreast with key developments and projects in the Foundation and maximize the use of relevant project outputs for resource mobilization efforts.
- Stay abreast and ensure compliance with existing Fundraising legislation and standards.
Event Management:
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events, including charity walks, conferences and donor appreciation events.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless event logistics, marketing, and participant engagement.
- Evaluate event outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement to enhance donor satisfaction and retention.
Donor Relations:
- Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors and corporate sponsors through personalized communication, gratitude, and recognition efforts.
- Provide exceptional donor stewardship by delivering timely updates, impact reports, and acknowledgments to demonstrate the value and impact of donor contributions.
- Develop strategies to engage donors in ongoing philanthropic opportunities, planned giving initiatives, and donor recognition programs.
Strategic Planning and Reporting:
- Contribute to the development of organizational strategic plans, goals, and objectives related to partnership development and fundraising.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate fundraising progress, performance metrics, and actionable insights to key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to evaluate fundraising goals, adjust strategies as needed, and drive continuous improvement in fundraising efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate compelling messages, develop persuasive proposals, and build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, donor databases, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven track record of success in partnership development, fundraising, and revenue generation within the nonprofit sector or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices, with experience in individual giving, major gifts, events, and corporate partnerships.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Adewunmi Desalu Parkinson’s Foundation (ADPF) and a passion for making a positive impact in the Parkinson’s community.
