Job Description
- Provide sound drilling engineering methods and procedures to be used on assigned drilling problems.
- Execute and accomplish assignments and studies in areas outlined in the scope, assuring conformance to overall objectives of all phases of drilling operations in areas including drilling penetration rate optimization, new drilling technology, and drilling studies.
- Deliver technical support for various types of drilling wells including complex multi-lateral and extended reach (ERD) horizontal oil and gas wells, HPHT gas wells, offshore and deep water, and unconventional wells. Wells include power water injections and producing wells, exploration wells and all kind of workovers including HST’s.
- Analyze advanced drilling data and the performance of new or existing drilling techniques to determine a need for or benefit from studies, recommendations, and/or modifications with respect to unit costs, and operating efficiency consistent with established operations.
- Extend training and technical support to junior engineers and ensure the sustained meeting of regional and global standards, practices, and procedures.
- Participate in the detailed planning of drilling operations, in collaboration with other professionals such as reservoir engineers, geologists and geophysicists. Also evaluate geological and engineering data to determine optimal well locations, appropriate drilling techniques and necessary equipment.
- Responsible for selecting the appropriate drilling equipment based on the characteristics of the well, geological formation and the operational constraints. Also be able consider factors such as well depth, reservoir pressure, formation composition and safety regulations.
- Supervision of drilling operations, including setting up equipment, controlling drilling parameters, monitoring safety and resolving problems.Ensure that operations are carried out in accordance with safety procedures and applicable regulations.
- Optimization of the drilling process, suggesting technical improvements, such as the use of new drilling techniques, the application of specific drilling fluids or the adoption of directional drilling methods to reach several reservoir zones from a single well.
- The drilling engineer will be responsible for identifying and resolving problems encountered during drilling operations, such as formation stability problems, mud loss incidents or mechanical complications. Should also work to minimize risks related to worker safety, the environment and equipment.
- Ensure Data Collection and Reporting, and analyzing drilling data including operational parameters, drill logs and rock samples. He prepares detailed reports on drilling operations, results achieved and lessons learned to inform future decisions.
- The drilling engineer will work closely with other professionals in the petroleum industry, such as geological engineers, production engineers and technicians, to integrate technical and geological aspects into planning and execution. drilling operations.

- B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering
- IWCF level 4.
