Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund – International advocacy organization Global Citizen and the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) have partnered to create the Nigeria Solidarity Support Fund (NSSF), a fund for Nigerians by Nigerians to combat the devastating effects on the people of Nigeria by COVID-19 and its associated restrictions. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the lives of every Nigerian, and healthcare systems have become overwhelmed and need critical support.
Funds mobilized through the Solidarity Fund will target three core COVID-19 response areas: supporting the most vulnerable, strengthening healthcare systems, and building capacity (the re-skilling and retooling of the Nigerian youth/workforce) for The New Nigeria. The fund target is to raise $50 million from Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, multilateral organizations, philanthropists (HNIs, foundations) and corporations.

Job Title: Program Manager

Job Description
- The Program manager is expected to position NSSF as a thought leader in public health innovations and must have proven experience / track record in leading health and youth programs implementation.
Job Responsibilities
The job duties and responsibilities set out below are not exhaustive and the programs manager may be required to carry out additional duties appropriate to their level of skills and experience:
- Manage and supervise all NSSF’s programs, ensuring strict compliance to annual work plan and monitoring progress against detailed Implementation Plans.
- Ensure effective delivery of all program activities while promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity.
- Identify, communicate, and manage updates and risks for timely interventions and corrective actions, ensuring program success.
- Engage regularly with beneficiaries for feedback, supervise all training, coaching, and support of youth partners to enhance competencies in advocating for health interventions.
- Stay informed about current trends, integrate innovative approaches, and collaborate with external experts and institutions to improve NSSF’s programs.
- Prepare and submit timely compelling reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) on project activities, providing accurate information on program achievements and challenges.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to amplify NSSF’s work.
- Collaborate with other Implementing Partners in Health / Youth space for a multi-sectoral implementation approach of NSSF programs and Grant application.
- Work with grants team to apply for grants that align with NSSF’s program areas.
- Organizing quarterly fireside discussions to transform NSSF into the hub around which critical industry news and issues revolve.
- Writing and publishing of world class peer reviewed paper on critical trends in the health space in Nigeria in partnership with global educational institutions
- Evaluate impact of interventions to measure andimprove impact of the NSSF on thelives of Nigerians.
- Advocate to the government for improved governance and healthservice delivery.
- Documenting the learnings from all interventions and making recommendations for improvements on the processes.
- Development of advocacy strategy and policy briefs to increase youth participation in health advocacy.
Qualifications
Education:
- A medical degree or equivalent
- Masters in public health or equivalent
Experience:
- 6 -10yrs+ experience in a similar role in an NGO
Skills:
- Strong expertise and experience in designing and implementing health and youth development programs in Nigeria.
- Demonstrated experience in managing funds, preferably in the Health Sector.
- Experience managing reporting relationships with government stakeholders.
- In-depth knowledge of the global Health sector and global development context and agenda.
