Job Summary

  • The Dangote Cement Plc is seeking a skilled and experienced Refractory Supervisor to join our team.
  • As a Refractory Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and management of refractory in our plant.
  • Your key duties and responsibilities will include participating in planning and organizing refractory repairs, scheduling maintenance and turnarounds, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise all refractory repairs and turnarounds.
  • Schedule refractory maintenance and coordinate activities with other departments.
  • Monitor and control refractory inventory levels and ensure timely procurement of materials.
  • Train and mentor refractory technicians, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Oversee the installation, inspection, and maintenance of refractory linings in high-temperature equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulations for refractory work.
  • Coordinate with engineering and production teams to optimize refractory performance and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of refractory work and inspections.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance refractory processes and performance.

Requirements
Education and Work Experience:

  • Trade Test I + 24 -30 years experience or OND (Relevant discipline) +10 – 20 years experience in refractory installation, maintenance, and management.
  • Experience in the cement industry is preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge of refractory materials, installation techniques, and maintenance practices.
  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Good understanding of safety regulations and practices.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications related to refractory management.
