Job Title: Project Engineer – Control and Automation

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Purpose

  • Responsible for the successful execution of the assigned project package by coordinating all the disciplines involved such as engineering, procurement, inspection, testing, transport, etc., in accordance with TechnipFMC QHSES corporate policies, contractual commitments (design data, codes, classes etc.), schedule and budget.

Job Description

  • A subject matter expert within the functional teams providing insight and possibly supervision to work teams comprised of various skill levels. Works with clients to understand their needs.
  • May perform computer modeling and analysis to support engineering projects.
  • Uses commercially available FEA and/or CFD software.
  • May pre-process and post-process on local workstations and launch multi-processor runs on high performance computing cluster.
  • Participates in engineering solutions as part of a project taskforce, in accordance with company standards, procedures, processes, schedules, and budget, with a continuous concern for quality, targets, and customer satisfaction.
  • Technical support may be required during Tender Preparation, EPC Project Execution, Services Onshore/ Offshore Activity Execution.
  • Knowledgeable in use of relevant Engineering tools.
  • Leads and supports project engineering, new product/technology development, product improvement and product standardization, and product qualification projects depending upon the assigned group.
  • Serves as a technical point of contact for assigned work package scope, and may serve as a focal point for all communications related to scope.
  • Develops product design, geometry standards documentation and product qualification requirements..
  • Creates, reviews/approves part reports, drawings, engineering specifications and standards.
  • Defines product quality, material, welding, and NDE requirements.
  • Supports and manage project schedule and deliverables.
  • Generate and lead conceptual designs or customize existing designs for proposals or projects from customer or internally generated specifications and prepare design layouts. Verify designs where necessary using classical analysis techniques (bending, buckling, shear, bearing, and pressure vessel).
  • Present designs to engineering staff during internal design review; prepare and/or review BOMs, documents and drawings. Selecting raw materials, coatings, and quality requirements as necessary.
  • Support product lifecycle from tendering, system and product design through to aftermarket support

Requirements

  • Be a Nigerian citizen.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with at least 8 years’ mechanical, electronic and/or hydraulic related experience in an oilfield equipment environment (particularly subsea production hardware) and successful completion of the Subsea Service Technician Apprentice Program or Engineering Boot Camp.
  • Minimum 5 year’s experience in Subsea engineering.
  • Capable of doing system engineering tasks.
  • Capable of producing standard technical system documents.
  • Capable of solving technical issues with coaching. Knowledgeable in how changes influences system engineering cost.
  • Capable of leading teamwork.
  • Capable of leading internal meetings.
