Job Title: Account Officer

Job Description

  • We are urgently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Account Officer to join our team at Mopheth located in Victoria Island, Lagos.
  • The ideal candidate will possess an HND/BSc in Accounting and will have the ability to handle various accounting tasks efficiently.
  • The role also requires exceptional data analysis skills, particularly in the context of purchasing and procurement processes. Experience with accounting software such as ICAN is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation for audits and liaise with auditors as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.
  • Monitor and track expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls.
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns and tax filings.
  • Provide support to the finance team as needed.
  • Work closely with the purchasing department to manage financial aspects of procurement, including vendor payments and reconciliation.
  • Perform data analysis to optimize purchasing decisions, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure budget adherence.

Requirements

  • HND / BSc in Accounting or a related field.
  • Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in a similar capacity.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, ICAN certification is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional skills in data analysis related to purchasing and procurement.
  • Immediate availability to start within one week.

Salary & Benefits
N100,000 – N250,000, with HMO and pension benefits.
