Job Title: Grant Writer (Intern)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria / Remote Working

Job Summary

  • The Grant Writer will be responsible for identifying, preparing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for the company’s projects and initiatives.
  • This role involves extensive research, writing, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the Grant Writer will identify and engage potential investors to support the company’s growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
Grant Research and Identification:

  • Conduct thorough research to identify grant opportunities that align with the company’s objectives.
  • Monitor ongoing and upcoming grant announcements, deadlines, and requirements.
  • Evaluate grant opportunities to determine suitability and potential impact on the company.

Grant Proposal Development:

  • Develop compelling and persuasive grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather necessary information and insights for proposals.
  • Ensure that all grant submissions meet funders’ guidelines and requirements.
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and ensure timely submission of all proposals.

Grant Management:

  • Track the status of submitted grants and follow up with funding agencies as needed.
  • Maintain organized records of all grant-related documents, communications, and reports.
  • Assist in managing awarded grants, including reporting requirements and compliance with grant terms.

Investor Identification and Engagement:

  • Conduct research to identify potential investors who align with the company’s mission and goals.
  • Develop and maintain a database of potential investors and funding sources.
  • Prepare and present investment proposals and pitch materials to potential investors.
  • Foster relationships with investors through regular communication and engagement.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the Partnership Manager and other team members to ensure alignment of grant and investment strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to provide updates on grant and investor activities.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build relationships with potential funders and investors.

Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, International Relations or a related field.

Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or a related field.
  • Experience in the manufacturing or consultancy industry is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
