We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Healthcare Journalist

Responsibilities

• Identify timely healthcare stories that align with Nairametrics’ editorial strategy, providing insights and context to our audience.
• Collaborate with editorial teams to contribute healthcare-related content to daily news coverage, special features, and investigative pieces.
• Ensure the accuracy, credibility, and integrity of healthcare-related content by fact-checking and verifying information from reliable sources.
• Review and edit content for clarity, coherence, and adherence to Nairametrics’ editorial guidelines.
• Engage with your audience by posting articles on our platform and your private platforms to boost views.
• Conduct thorough research on a wide range of healthcare topics, including medical breakthroughs, healthcare policies, disease outbreaks, medical advancements, and more.
• Collect and analyze healthcare data from various sources, including government agencies, research institutions, medical journals, and industry reports.
• Utilize statistical methods to interpret and analyze data, identifying trends, patterns, and insights that can be translated into informative news pieces.
• Conduct interviews and represent Nairametrics at healthcare-related functions.
• Generate well-researched, accurate, and engaging content related to healthcare topics for various platforms, including articles, reports, infographics, videos, and podcasts.
• Translate complex healthcare data and concepts into accessible and understandable language for the Nairametrics audience.
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, its terminology, regulations, and emerging trends.
• Stay informed about current events and developments in the healthcare sector, especially those with significant societal, medical, or financial implications.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in healthcare journalism or content creation.
• Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
• Ability to analyze and interpret healthcare data and trends.
• Familiarity with healthcare terminology and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
