Job Title: Pharmaceutical Specialist

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • The Pharmaceutical Specialist is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of strategic plans for pharmaceutical products or therapeutic areas, in alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:

  • Leading and mentoring a team of pharmaceutical professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project execution and achievement of business objectives.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of strategic plans for pharmaceutical products or therapeutic areas, in alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with research and development, regulatory affairs, marketing, and other departments to drive product development and commercialization efforts.
  • Staying current on industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes that may impact pharmaceutical products or therapeutic areas.
  • Representing the company at conferences, meetings, and other industry events to enhance visibility and build strategic partnerships.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, quality standards, and company policies throughout the product lifecycle.

You should have:

  • Proven work experience as Pharmaceutical Specialist or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of drug development processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Strategic thinking skills with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to work in a laboratory for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work on new pharmaceutical products from conceptualization to launch.
  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Ability to develop innovative pharmaceutical products.
  • Ability to stay up to date with industry trends and innovations.

Qualifications and Competencies Required

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical sciences, or related field from an accredited tertiary institution.
  • Advanced degree will be preferable.
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.
  • Must have excellent leadership skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and inspire team members.
  • Must have excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment and influence stakeholders at all levels of the company.
  • Ability to think on feet, plan and prioritize work by deadlines.
  • Ability to organize work schedules on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Ability to multitask and deliver desired performance outcome.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to use creative ways to resolve problems at the workplace.
  • A team player with a customer-oriented approach.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in pharma technology software.
  • High integrity and good work ethics.
  • Demonstrable positive attitude toward work.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling tasks.
  • Ability to work well with team members at all levels
