We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The Project Manager’s main role is to oversee various rehabilitation, shutdown and turnaround projects of refineries and others across the country.
  • He will be responsible for planning and managing all relevant activities and resources (human, assets, financial etc) to deliver as per contractual requirements while complying with QHSE standards.

Main Tasks 

  • Define the extent of scope of work of each bid proposal, documents, ensuring that activities are identified and captured
  • Lead the team to generate deliverables required for bid proposals, as well as during execution stage
  • Generate organization chart and define roles and responsibilities of each key personnel in the organization generated
  • Provide construction execution plan during bid proposal stage and further develop it after project award
  • Responsible for the generation of technical queries for the grey areas found in the contract documents
  • Responsible for the generation of manpower and equipment loading for both bid proposal and execution stage
  • Provide a comprehensive understanding of effective turnaround management techniques and implementation
  • Lead the team for planning and managing shutdowns, turnarounds and outages in the process plant environment on a complex and demanding function
  • Develop the management plan, work plans, resource plans and budget for the turnaround and construction project(s)
  • Enhance the company’s turnaround management capabilities and ensure a team approach in the planning and execution of plant shutdowns and turnarounds
  • Identify the risks and critical path involved in the shutdown and turnaround project(s) and provide better solutions, contingencies and mitigations to eliminate the risks or at least put them into low level risks
  • Identify works that are out of -scope based on very good knowledge and experience in contract management and supervise the generation of change orders or extension of time
  • Generate lessons learned and close them prior to project completion
  • Oversee the commercial aspect of the project involving the procurement of construction aide materials, tools and consumables and renting/purchasing of equipment
  • Supervise and follow up on the generation of shop drawings, WPS/ WQT, ITP and construction procedures

Job Specification

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in projects management, mainly turnarounds, rehabilitations and shutdowns.

Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of HSE principles and guidelines.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and Project Management Software
  • Contract management skills
  • Strong client interaction
