How To Reactivate Your Blocked SIM Cards

How To Reactivate MTN, Glo, Airtel Other Blocked SIM Cards

The Nigerian Telecommunications Commission has directed that all disconnected SIM cards be reactivated. Is your SIM card blocked or disconnected due to your inability to link it with NIN during the National Identification Number (NIN) SIM harmonization exercise? Nigerian telecommunications companies have started reactivating disconnected SIM cards across the Country. However, to avoid the stressful situation due to overcrowded centres or offices for sim relinking, the telecommunications companies have provided steps to relink your SIM card from the comfort of your home.

Below is how to link your disconnected SIM card from home:

1. For MTN Customers: Visit https://nin.mtn.ng to check the NIN status. If not linked, proceed to link it. Or dial *996# on your MTN line, reply with 1 (Submit NIN/VNIN), select 2 (Submit NIN), enter your NIN and submit.

2. For Airtel Customers: Dial *121# and enter your eleven-digit NIN. A confirmation message will indicate that your Airtel SIM card has been successfully unbarred.

3. For 9mobile (EMTS) Customers: Dial *200*8#.

4. For Glo Customers: Dial 109 followed by your NIN number (e.g., *109*12345678901 #) and follow the prompts to submit your NIN.

5. For Smile Customers: Send your NIN to customercare@smile.com.ng or call 07020444444. After providing consent and verifying your NIN, your line will be unbarred.
