We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Corrosion Engineers

Location: Lagos
Type of contract: Regular position
Domain: Maintenance / Inspection / Technology

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and implement Corrosion & Prevention management philosophy
  • Schedule and execute Corrosion Surveys and Studies and recommend the necessary remedial actions
  • Ensure that corrosion-monitoring operations are correctly performed as per Company E&P best practice
  • Validate the scope of work, prepare the relevant contracts, assess the tender proposal
  • Review Corrosion-Monitoring and Inspection results regularly and assess together in view of providing a global evaluation of Integrity
  • Supervise, validate the yearly painting surveys and issue recommendation for painting campaigns
  • Follow planning and quality of Painting Campaigns
  • Liaise with Headquarters for corrosion matters with the aim of improving the physical integrity of Production Facilities
  • Investigate and analyze facilities malfunctions from the stand point of Corrosion Evolutions and, in liaison with the Inspection Teams Onshore and Offshore, propose solutions to repair the equipment and prevent repetitions of the corrosion issues.
  • Prepare Corrosion Methods, Management Systems, tools, Planning and Contracts of corrosion activities
  • Ensure that Cathodic Protection systems are effective and optimally maintained
  • Investigate and analyze Cathodic Protection results. Report any anomalies and propose solutions to prevent them
  • Define pipeline cleaning program as well as chemical products injection rates for corrosion prevention

Context & Environment:

  • Management of activities in Brown and Green field context with associated specific constraints
  • High quality expectation in a challenging economic environment

Additional Information:

  • 2 FPSO and Offloading buoys (AKPO 2009 and EGINA 2018)
  • Production Level: during plateau period = 110kbopd and 17Mmscm/d (AKPO), 180kbopd and 3.5Mmscm/d (EGINA)
  • Ensure effective Corrosion mitigation, control and monitoring for OML 130 DW Field Operation
  • Is the Technical authority for corrosion concerns
  • Is SECE Guardian for SECE P18 – Corrosion Prevention and Corrosion Monitoring

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering).
  • Higher qualification in Corrosion Engineering (MSc or NACE Snr Corrosion Technologist)
  • 5 years of experience in Corrosion Engineer’s functions, preferably in E&P
  • Excellent communication and negotiation-skills; English:- fluent
  • Coating Inspectors Certification by a recognized body, (e.g. B.Gas/ NACE), would be an advantage.
